I used today on a 46 m dive (with another computer as backup). The gas consumption prediction did not seem to work at all. Any trick to turning it on other than setting tank sizes and pressure?

Hi Michael,

thanks for your feedback. Actually, in the beta firmware version that is currently out here through the forum there are still a few flaws, one of them is in the gas needs prediction: during some phases of the dive it computes inaccurate numbers. To have the computations and warnings set to work, you need to activate them in Deco Setup -> 2nd Deco Plan -> Calc.Gas (B/O) -> Yes. B/O stands for BailOut - in CCR mode the OSTC can't determine your diluent usage so in it's eager to do something it then computes a bailout deco plan and sums up how much OC-bailout gas that would take. But as said, it's still buggy in the 2.93beta. I have finished on 2.95 in the meantime and sent it to Matthias. He'll check-dive it next weekend and if it looks good it'll be soon posted here.
Do you made any other observations, did the TTS and deco stops matched with your reference computer?

best regards,
Ralph

Is the source for these new features going to be published?

It would be awesome to be able to follow the development.

Hi Anton,

thanks for your interest! Any code review by another set of eyes is always welcome and last but not least that's the idea of OSTC dive computers! As soon as the latest 2.95 advances from internal alpha to beta state, it will get put on the repository.

Cheers,
Ralph
