Hi Hansjoerg.

The time of day is shown already in the info view (together with EAD and END).

regards,
Christian

PS: Next stable release will come soon.

Hello Matthias,

I know that but when I have limited time to go down and enjoy the bottom time, I do not want to fiddle with buttons and views. I would love to set it up, once and forever, when I am on the surface. I would really appreciate such option, and I guess so would others.

Best regards

Gorcio,

Here is one tips for you.
- Use simulate menu, then you set it you prefer(hiding some custom views).
- When you dive in real, custom views settings permanently you did.

Anyway, Hows goin on rest of feature requests?
- Revert to old Compass UI(N,E,W,S with big UI)
- Auto SAC/RMV settings(log edit to IN/EX pressure) --> further, AirIntegrate device with optical port?
- UTC with offset / Internal clock drift correction
- Additional custom color scheme
- Tissue graph improvement(Current GF did not showed when I use VPM. Not a realtime loop for ZH-L16 and VPM?)

From this post [forum.heinrichsweikamp.com] on the OSTC3 forum, it would be a nice (and possibly not too difficult) addition to add OTU calculations in addition to CNS.

Following formula can be used to track it:

#OTU = (((PO2 - 0,5)/0,5)^(5/6)) * time in minutes

OTUs are tracked on a daily basis and do not decrease by making intervals. This means that OTUs will only increase until the end of the day and start over the next day.

Dear team at Heinrichs Weikamp.

I'm a very happy OSTC4 owner.
However, I miss a very simple feature from my previous dive computer.
It is "Owner information" or "Emergency information".

In general it is simply a way to show owner information, whether it be due to a lost computer or an emergency situation. Just a simple screen showing text information that the user has previously put in.

For example, this is the text I include on the screen of my older computer: My name, my phone number+email, social ID, name of my contry, my blood type and RhD info, allergy information (e.g. no known allergies), names and phone numbers of my contacts/family in emergency and my DAN number.

I think this should be very simple to implement and might become VERY useful, especially in emergencies but also for a lost computer. It would be sufficient to have this information display under some menu tab.
The computer could also be programmed to show this information on the surface if it senses some kind of emergency e.g. rapid ascent, omitting decompression etc. in case there was emergency. A simple button press would ignore that screen on the surface if it was a "false alarm" (no emergency/accident). A little more complicated to program and maybe not a priority. At least I'd like to see the simple "menu tab" solution for text information.

Sincerely,
Sverrir

You can do that already, you need to use SW such as OSTC companion to add your own text.

I'm sorry to bring this up again since I don't want to hijack this thread.
But the text input that Hansjoerg mentions merely serves as "tagging" the computer with owner's name since it doesn't hold up more than very few characters (about 48 if I'm not wrong).

My suggestion/request was about a special menu tab, being able to contain much longer string of text. That can be used to contain very valuable information, especially in an emergency such as: Diver's name, diver's phone number+email, social ID, contry, blood type information, allergy information (e.g. no known allergies), other medical concerns, names and phone numbers of contacts/family in emergency and diver's DAN number (or other insurance information for the diver).

In case of an unresponsive diver, obtaining these information as quick as possible can be very important. It is by far best if the diver has all these information strapped to his arm all the time instead of relying on some other ways, the buddy/team or information on the surface.

If this feature is already supported then please feel free to delete my post =)
If not, please add this since it should not be difficult to do and can be very important.

Hi,

while everything about security is a great idea - I think that you can't expect first aid team/doctors to know how to get the information like that from every dive computer. Isn't it a bit simpler to carry a plastic card with you/attached visibly to your dive gear with all the details on it like this one?
You can print it and laminate it, or get a plastic one from here
Or get yourself a velcro patch with all the details, that you can attach to your drysuit pocket, bcd/wing etc.

Even then - the ERT cannot use your medical details without validation (e.g. blood type for transfusion, unless you carry with you a card confirmed by a medical institution).

Best regards

I respect your answer and agree completely Gorcio.

I just lost sight of the original problem since I'm used to having these information in my previous computer (which displays them automatically e.g. if ascending rapidly or omitting deco) and was trying to do the same with the OSTC.
Of course such cards are much more sensible solution. They're not even battery dependant like the computer =)
I have a similar card in my wallet, just didn't think of diving with one.

Sincerely,
Sverrir

Hi Christian,
I suggest to make the feature "Better gas – quick gas change" available in the "large font" dive mode.
Cheers!

Hi,

My wish : in the logbook displaying the surface intervale with the previous dive (if less than 24 hours). Could be interesting when several dives in the day.

I'd basically like to see what I wrote here: [forum.heinrichsweikamp.com]
and already proposed much earlier (like some years ago when the DRX was devised)

With Air Pressure Sensors one could have the following:

The sensors could be connected via BT and the data logged.

And even better:
One could have features that do dynamic air calculation,... e.g. the OSTC could more or less accurately calculate the current SAC and based on this and the current scheduled deco stops + some configurable safety margin (e.g. 1/3 rule, or e.g. "want to leave with 50bar"winking smiley tell the diver how long he could stay at the current depth and still get out (after that time) properly.

Of course this could be extended for different gases and basically the OSTC4 telling you the whole time you can stay, and still leave including any needed gas changes.

I.e. a FTTS with air ;-)

Other things might be:
- configurable air breaks,... like when your CNS would rise to high, the OSTC4 tells you to have a AirBreak (or some other gas, with the least Oxygen percentage), and the configurable part would be to tell for how long one would breath the deco gas and for how long the "air"

- maybe showing the OTUs would be nice as well (or does it do that already)?
