Hi,

i can upload the Firmware with the OSTC companion to my OSTC4 (#385). But after Update 1 the OSTC quits the process with a checksum error. I tried to download and unzip the file multiple times, but no progress....

Die drei Balken sind die Tastensperre. Man muss den entsprechenden Knopf unter/über dem Balken drücken, dann ist der wieder entsperrt. musste ich auch erst lernen.

Ps. Finde das aber super. Habe mir mal vorher durch das Berühren beim Anziehen, etc das Gasgemisch beim start komplett verstellt

Hi, i found a strange behaviour of the Calculate Deco in the Sim Menu.

Going from Standby to the Sim Menu and press "Calculate Deco", it shows me no Deco at all. Regardless how often i do this, see picture IMG_4464.jpeg.

as i am now diving with a OSTC2 and OSTC4 (both on newest firmware; both used with ZH-L16+GF and same gradient factors) a im wondering, how the OSTC4 is calculating the no fly waiting time. In the OSTC2 set to to "flying".

On the OSTC4 i found no option to change this. And in the manual no ...

You can try to put the OSTC on the charger and than place a strong magnet in the middle of the screen. That should trigger some kind of reset and helped my when my OSTC froze one time…

today i have also problems downloading dives from my OSTC2 (firmware 3.18) with MacDive and Subsurface on a Macbook.

It starts downloading the 4 newest dives and then aborts at the 5th. The 5th however is "special", because it was a dive with 1min duration (aborted to due problems with my ...

With an iPhone you can do it with the OSTConf App.

HW has a create brochure about "Gradient factors in the OSTC" - i fear only available in german. And the sat/desat factors are also explained there.

i played a little bit more with the Beta 2 simulation and found something i don't unterstand (maybe that is intended, than i want to understand):
- two active gases
1) Air (First, max. depth 51m)
2) Tx 15/45 (Work, max. depth 76m)

I simulate a dive to 60m. At 51m the OSTC asks for a gas ...

did a dive and played a little bit with the Simulator. Big fonts are nice, and Gas change (to deactivated mixes) with updated deco plan is more intuitive now. I discovered only two small layout bugs on my OSCT2...

1) With a leading tissue >9 the box around is overwritten

2) When going going ...

In the past (not with firmware 3.x) i had the problem, that after an firmware update, the right button was not reacting anymore. What helped me:
- put the OSTC in the freezer/fridge for some minutes (seems like cold make the buttons more reactive)
- go to the menu with the button sensitivity change ...

did i dive today. Everything worked fine, despite a little graphical bug.

I can only agree on that. Yesterday (finally) in the Lake of Constance. Firmware works great, new page in the logbook is interesting. And yes, i like the enhanced time before the OSTC goes to sleep now!

bei mir (OSTC2) tritt der Grafikfehler nicht auf. Weder "großes" noch normales Layout. Ich benutze allerdings die englische Firmware, vielleicht hängt es damit zusammen.

Der Grafikfehler bei einem TG auf 100m (hatte ich zu einem alten Stand berichtet) ist jedenfalls behoben...

With a simulated dive to 100m the screen ended up with some "garbage" in the upper left corner after the depth changed from xx.x to yyy. See attached picture from ascend..

I just played a little bit with the simulator (3.09 beta 2). With the big font layout it now shows at my OSTC2 from the beginning only "NDL 0" and this doesn't change until deco obligation is reached... from there on first deco stop and tts is shown as usual...

4 Minuten finde ich auch besser. Die 90 Sekunden waren mir auch immer zu kurz. Meistens ist der OSTC immer kurz bevor es los ging wieder ausgegangen.

Ob fix oder einstellbar wäre mir persönlich dabei egal...

one question regarding the TTS with the "slow" hint for final ascend:
I understood that it should show up, once the last deco stop has cleared.

Yesterday it showed me the "slow" (plus arrow) right after NDL went to 0 min on depth and than all the time during ascend. Was that really the ...

I also think this is a valuable information and reminds you, that a slower final ascend to the surface is better. So i would leave it like it is.

(And if you get a lot of questions about this, it also means that people realize it and don’t unterstand it , but start thinking about this)

thanks for the (as always) excellent explanation. And i can confirm, the OSTC ist doing the same thing at lake of constance level ;-)

Btw. i did now 6 dive with the beta (two deep one; three in mountain lakes; one long, shallow one) and discovered nothing unusual... its not ...
