Re: Decompression Calculations
Way too fiddly for me to use the OSTC to plan run times... but I do trust it. I normally run the plans on Subsurface as an initial check; then on PastoDeco for a detailed plan and What-If iterations. Everything then gets written on a slate. If I use the OSTC for planning, it is to make sure there wi...

OSTC2TR v OSTC4 - Which One?
It may be time to upgrade my OSTC2, but I cannot make my mind up between the OSTC2TR and OSTC4.
If I am not too concerned about air integration, and I am not too concerned about using VPM or a wet connector, what would be the main case between the 2 and 4 in diving terms?

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.99 beta released
Hi Ralph, - Between 2.98 and 2.99, the display colour options have changed. I was remarking that the new colour selection is quite more pleasant compared to the old colour selection. - The lag is on the surface as well as the simulator, running on an OSTC2 (2017). I'll be curious to see if anyone el...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.99 beta released
I like the new display colour options and how some of the information is laid out (time of day and surface pressure are a nice touch)... Not sure if it's just the simulator though, but operation feels a bit laggy. Further edit: I have rolled back to 2.98 as the lag seems to be present in normal menu...

Re: Some translation help needed for French and Italian Firmware
Matthias,
Most, if not all, Italian-speaking divers will be familiar with the word Gauge. It is also common on other dive computers in Italian language, so it is consistent.
Will download and have a play tonight, plus a dive with it tomorrow. Glad I could help.

Matthias,
Just emailed you a proposed Italian translation. Obviously this is only one person's opinion. Happy to help with any abbreviations if any of the words are too long.

sharpw

Air integration would definitely bring the OSTCs (for me) on a level playing field with the Perdix. That's the one thing I am jealous about with the buddies that have a Perdix... but I am very happy about everything else

Hi Ralph,
Many thanks for the explanation. It makes sense - my suggestion was a "nice to have" feature so it's definitely not the end of the world if it's not there. As you suggested, there are ways around it.
It sounds like you have all been pretty busy!

SharpW

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.93beta released
That can work. However when you dive them independent (and maybe it's just me using it this way), I set up the two tanks as independent gases on the computer and switch between the gases when I switch regulators. This lets me automatically see on Subsurface when I've switched tanks. By having the tw...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.93beta released
Is there any chance you could add 8.5L as a size for tanks? It's an odd size yes, but when you have double 8.5L, that extra 1L between them can make a bit of a difference.
Thanks in advance.

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 2.10 released
Matthias,
Another thing - when you put a new battery in the OSTC3, the usual menu comes up to give options for batteries. One of the options is 'Internal 18650'. Is that supposed to be an 18650 or 14500?
With Regards

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 2.10 released
Small problem. Once updated, my OSTC3 was reading 0% battery. Before the upgrade, the battery was at 42%. Voltage is reading 3.4V. I'm using a SAFT battery. I tried pulling the battery out and reinserting, selecting 'Keep Old', but it still showed 0%. I tried again, selecting new 3.6V and it is now ...

Well since people are chipping in with opinions, I don't like it... The compass works fine the way it is for me and mimics a 'real' compass well enough.

NEW: Safety Stop can be configured (Start-, End- and reset-depth + length of stop) via PC
Hi Matthias,
Where do you configure the safety stop? Connecting the OSTC3+ to Subsurface 4.5.3 on Win8.1 does not bring up the option.

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.92 released
Matthias, Using a different bluetooth dongle made no difference. However, using the patch you provided allowed me to download all my dives in Subsurface 4.5.1 and Diving Log 6.0. Not quite sure why the problem arised in the first place, but with the patch it all now works fine. Many thanks for not g...

Thank you Matthias. I will try to update with my normal Bluetooth hardware.
I have received the new Bluetooth dongle today, so I will try that as well without the additional update.
Will update tonight once I've tried both combinations.

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.92 released
One more note about download mode. With Subsurface and OSTC v1.92, if I go in Configure Dive Computer, Connect, Retrieve available data, OSTC3 will enable download mode and download its settings to subsurface. Download mode works in that case. However, when I try to copy dives, it will return the er...

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.92 released
Matthias, I have ordered a bluetooth dongle which uses a different chipset and stack than what I have on my desktop. We will see if it makes a difference. I have no doubts that you run regression testing for your firmware upgrades. However, if my desktop PC has _not_ changed and the OSTC firmware ha...

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.92 released
Matthias, Subsurface will now connect to read the settings of the dive computer. This is more than what it did on 1.90. However, it will not download the dives into Subsurface, just like before. Log file attached. The problem is outstanding with Subsurface 4.5 as well as 4.5.1. Diving Log 6.0 does n...

Fyb isn't the only one having the issue.
I'm having a similar problem using Subsurface. I've tried two different machines (windows 8.1 and 10) and two different versions of Subsurface, and 1.90 still won't download my dives.

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.90 released
Following update to 1.90, my OSTC3+ won't upload dives to Subsurface 4.5.0. I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit running a Broadcom BT stack.
Reverting to v1.88 for the OSTC3+ allowed me to download all the dive details.
