I suspect that once you have recharged the battery you will have to reset the battery status by using the battery reset menu :

Settings -> More... -> More... -> Reset Battery -> New Battery -> Internal 16650

It looks like your OSTC3 is set to the wrong colour display mode ?

Perhaps try :
Menu -> Settings -> Display Settings -> Colour scheme -> Select "Standard"

You really should use the SAFT batteries; they last much longer and they have a highly predictable discharge profile. Their power output is also not affected as much by cold temperatures. Subsurface is very good... it's very nice to have a piece of software that can download from different computers on any major OS and stores the data in an open format (XML). HW should stick to firmware .
