Re: Alternative aGF?

Re: Safety stop on OSTC 2 firmware 10.75

Hello Flemming, in the OSTC implementation, there are 4 parameters involved: - opt_safety_stop_length, default 3 mins, can be 60 ... 240 seconds, - opt_safety_stop_start, default 5 meters, can be 2 m ... 6 m - this is the depth at which the safety stop counting begins / pauses, - opt_safety_stop_end...

Re: Understanding bailout values in simulation mode

Hi Ion, there is one more setting that goes into the gas consumption caculation: fTTS/Delay. This is the time in minutes, the OSTC assumes you stay at bottom depth - while already on bailout gas - before the actual ascent starts. This 'delay time' caters for the time needed to assess the situation &...

Do you have the sport firmware? If yes, the setting may indeed been removed from the menu as with no He the N2+He view does not make any sense and there is no loss of information with only the press+sat view then. PS: a lot of information on what the tissue do and how the OSTC handles & displays...

Re: Sensor check and diluent warning

Hi, the DIL warning is given as soon as the gap between the setpoint and the ppO2 of the current pure diluent becomes 0,2 bar or less. At this point, a dil flush will not noticable bring down the measured ppO2 in the loop and thus may confuse the diver, so the alarm is to make the diver aware of thi...

Re: No fly waiting time

Hi,

the OSTC2 really calculates a no-fly-time, it is done in the same way as a deco stop calculation, with the only change that the target depth is not surface pressue but an aircraft cabin altitude pressure. The OSTC4 does the traditional 24 hours count-down.

Re: where is the Indication of "No fly" ?

That's normal. "Desat" has a target pressure of 105% of the surface pressure (= 5% overpressure) for every tissue, that's a much lower value than what the tissues will be able to stand at 0.6 bar. This is not to say everyone should board an aircraft right after diving, but this "take ...

Re: where is the Indication of "No fly" ?

The "no fly" time is calculated like a deco stop, with the current surface pressure as the current "depth" and a pressure of 0.6 bar as the target "surface" pressure. Thus, the "no fly" time is the time one has to "stop" at the current surface pressu...

Re: unexpected behaviour toggling aGF and back

Hi, the behaviour is as expected / programmed - although it is close to the bug or feature question. Changing the GF settings while in the dive is not covered by Erik Baker's GF concept and doing so poses a question on what to do regarding the GF low reference depth. This depth is not set by hand bu...

Re: Deco-dive with travel gas, bottom gas and four deco gases

Hi,

I will have to check the 0 m MOD issue.

All gases will be prompted for, unless they are disabled or set as lost. If they are deco, they will be prompted for once the 1st deco stop is reached on tje ascent.
Anyhow, best is always to try out with the simulator mode.
