Re: hwOS Tech: 2.99 beta 5 released!

Thank you very much for your detailed explanations, Ralph. They are very clear, and such a transparency is really an important added value for HW computers. Putting them together helps to have a 'big photo' of how the pieces of the OSTC algorithic puzzle have been designed, and rises higher the conf...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.99 beta 5 released!

Hi Ralph and thank you very much for your explanations to the 1 to 5 points. Some last comments about them: 1-3-4: Ok, thanks! 2: Exceeded MODs. I understand the explanation. But if i configure a max ppO2 for the deepest part of the dive (1'4 for instance), my expectation is to get an attention (yel...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.99 beta 5 released!

Hi all again! I've been playing a little bit more with the new beta. I append another point to the 4 already commented that are being revised by Ralph: 5- Better gas change (OC): in previous version, if you have an active deco gas with change depth set, once you arrive to this change depth the OSTC ...

And the last image.

Here in the personal view, at the same depth, is the only place where the ppo2 marked in red seems to detect that with this value it should be a 'warning'. But it's no consistent with the other views.

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.99 beta 5 released!

Hello! I've installed it yesterday on my OSTC 2, and i've been playing a little bit with it in the simulator. Here some appreciations: 1- New time-counter in compass personal view: it doesn't display the final digit of the seconds (see two images atacched) 2- Exceded MOD warnings for first gas not w...

Thanks for the update...looks great looking to the change notes, with some expected improvements, i'll test it soon on my OSTC 2! Re: hwOS Tech: 2.98 released

well... that's the behavior that i will expect in that situation, so we agree. :-) The doubt comes because it's not the one i've initially seen during the simulations. At the limit, in this situation, the TTS should rise as high as in another simulation with only one configured gas (as tx21/35), and...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.98 released

Thank you for the fast and clear answer, Ralph. Be aware that as i've seen in further tests, in OC and at least in simulator mode, the same problem exists if you don't change to a suggested better gas during the ascent. I mean, and continuing with the same test dive: backgas tx21/35 + deco nx50, 48m...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.98 released

Hello, i've been using the 2.98 in a few dives, and playing with it in the simulator. I've found an aparent bug at least in simulator mode: simulating a dive with tx21/35 (backgas) and nx50 (deco), and trying the 'lost gas' functionality for the deco gas, seems that: 1. The gas-needs calculations/wa...

Yes, the unit it's so new (less than 1 week since I've received it).

Thank you for the quick response Matthias. I'll reset the logbook, and hope that these artifacts can not create future problems. 8-)

Brand new OSTC 2, and 156 dives in the logbook?

Hello everybody, i've just received my brand new OSTC 2. The logbook comes with more than 150 logged dives... one that seems a test dive to 58m in chamber, and many others to aprox 18m for 6'... see attached images. It's that normal? Despite this, i've already tested the unit in two recreational div...

Re: hwOS Tec: Average depth in main screen?

Same here, total-per-dive AVG for me too.

It's the one i normaly use for deco on the fly, and also is the only that can be used for gas consumption calculations.

Re: hwOS Tec: Average depth in main screen?

Hi, Ralph. simply as a backup. It's so useful and quite straight forward once you're used to that stuff (min deco calculations, deco on the fly, etc)... and it's strange not to have that average always visible, when you are used to it. For gas consumption calculations it's also very useful. Normally...

Re: hwOS Tec: Average depth in main screen?

Maybe a solomonic decision could be to add in the menu of 'Display settings' a new option called 'Avg. Depth in main screen', marked as'NO' by default (same current behavior). If this option is selected as 'YES', on the main screen the Average Depth could be shown instead of the Maximum, and in this...
