Re: OSTC Plus Charging Problem

I've had the same problem for years. Charger usually blinks red, then I remove it from the OSTCplus, put it on again, wait again, ... and so on until eventually it stays green and charges. Good idea to check the amp rating of the charger. One thing I found: it usually works faster if I do not remove...

Re: Reboot during dive
oke tnx Ralph My guess is the quality of the battery that came with it I am testing it now on 0,2 A and it drops to 1,3V right away maybe with some low temperature this caused the reboot with even a bit bigger drop ? Is the remaining time capac...

Re: Batterie size issue
When using 1,5V batteries, we use the formula from the OSTC sport. Our reference (And recommended) 1,5V battery is the Energizer E2 Lithium (Datasheet attached). It's reliable, can deliver enough current in cold water, relatively che...

Re: Batterie size issue

There are many "2500mAh" batteries on the market that actually have < 400mAh when measured:

Re: Batterie size issue

thank you, makes sense again. Would you mind checking my question about the voltage % display and battery warnings for disposable Saft 3.6V in OSTC sport in the other thread "Li-Ion Battery Life on OSTC Sport"? (I don't want to repeat here again as it's a different topic).

Re: Batterie size issue

Thank you, makes sense. Similar question: in the OSTC plus you allow battery type T0 (1.5V disposable). Which capacity do you assume for displaying the percentage? There are so many possible. Reading the hwos source code (which I don't fully understand of course) it looks like you don't reset the ca...

Re: Batterie size issue

When I use a 1000mAh battery, can I adjust the OSTC plus charge counter?
Or isn't the 800mAh capacity hard-coded in hwos, so that it will reach 0% when there's still 20% left in the 1000mAh battery, and the larger battery is only for safety reasons?

Re: Li-Ion Battery Life on OSTC Sport

back to the 3.6v batteries looked at the histories, it seems the voltage levels were higher before and got reduced around revision 77 of ostc3.inc in Feb'2014. Before Feb'2014 the 75% level was 3.2V which fits well with the Saft LS14500 datasheet (after 20 out of 30 hours with 55mA). The values in h...

Re: Li-Ion Battery Life on OSTC Sport

In the Energizer Lithium datasheet referenced in src/hwos.inc, we can see this curve and correct my statement above: With the formula in src/adc_lightsensor.asm, the voltage levels translate about like this for battery type T0: 1.45V: 88% is lifetime 35% ...

Re: Li-Ion Battery Life on OSTC Sport

I see in hwos source code that for devices without battery gauge IC such as OSTC sport, the voltage is used to calculate the percentage. src/hwos.inc gives percentage levels in mV: #DEFINE lithium_36v_75 .3000 ; [mV] #DEFINE lithium_36v_50 .2900 ; [mV] #DEFINE lithium_36v_25 .2600 ; [mV] #DEFINE lit...

OSTC plus upgrade from hwOS sport to hwOS tech

I successfully updated my OSTC plus to hwOS sport 10.53 . Couldn't make the update neither with the Android app (connected to OSTC but didn't download firmware files) nor the Windows companion (hangs forever although the device was paired and the COM port was set), but with subsurface on Linux it wa...

Unterhalb dieser Linie i...
