Re: Dumb Question - resetting MoD
Thanks Ralph. I didn't get a change gas option - my only other gas was my 60% deco, which would only kick in at 15m. I can't recall whether it was blinking (I think not) - I recall it was just red text. My ppO2 is 1.4 for work gas and 1.6 for deco. Just so that I understand, one does not have to res...

Dumb Question - resetting MoD
Hi All - apologies for a dumb question. I did my first decompression diving for the first time since lockdown at Scapa Flow last week. I was confused by the reasoning behind having to reset the MoD when I set my O2 mix? This caught me out on one dive where my Nitrox mix was set at 26%, but the MoD w...

TTS forecast
Hi All - just checking as the manual is unclear. Does the forecast TTS take account of deco gases in my gas list??
Thanks
RobM
Thanks

Re: OSTC2 Temperature reading
Thanks Ralph - I understand there will be limitations to what the sensor can achieve (especially how you describe its main purpose - that was insightful). Personally, it's been helpful for me to understand, and I'm happy with the +/-2 offset. After diving this weekend, the -2 seems good enough for m...

Re: OSTC2 Temperature reading
Thanks for the help.
I've just modified the "Temperature sensor offset: 049" setting to -2.0 using OSTConf v1.2.0.0
I'm going to keep a track of the deviation between my Suunto and OSTC2 to plot a more accurate average deviation. For now, -2 degrees is close enough.

Re: OSTC2 Temperature reading
Thanks All. Ralph - I suspected the body of the computer would have something to do with this. It is a little disappointing that the temperature reading cannot be relied upon I too will look into OSTConf, but could this possibly be calibrated at factory? I'm sure it would be possible to build up som...

Re: OSTC2 Temperature reading
Hi Ralph - I've just downloaded a selection of my logs to SubSurface from my backup computer (Suunto EON) and compared to my downloaded OSTC2 logs. Max depth and min temp shown: 31/05/19 -------- Suunto = 28mins - 33.0m - 8.4 degrees OSTC2 = 29mins - 32.7m - 10.4 degrees 29/05/19 -------- Suunto = 5...

OSTC2 Temperature reading
Greetings, I've just completed a full weeks diving in West Scotland. Comparing my OSTC logs to others on the same trip shows a significant temperature difference (2 degrees) between my OSTC2 and other dive computers (Shearwater Petrel and Suunto's all showing 9 degrees - mine showing 11 degrees). Is...

Re: Decompression Calculations
Thanks for your replies guys. This has helped clarify my understanding of the OSTC calcs. I'm not suggesting the additional conservatism is a bad thing (it's not). My concern was around the whether the calculations should be trusted. My sample calculations wer: ~ First dive (no residual saturation) ...

Decompression Calculations
Hi All - I've just been using my OSTC2 for a couple of months and I'm preparing for my first serious deco dive. I'm not confident with the deco calculations given by the OSTC2. I have planned a 42m dive for 20 minutes on Air only (just for comparative purposes). I use ZHL16+GF 30/85. Ascent speed is...
