The USB standards have current limits so if it's dumber than should be allowed then it'll let you pull 2A off.
But I realise its a moot point that hasn't been relevant for a good decade. My bad. Thanks for the input though. It's good to know for sure.

Re: Charge OSTC 2 from powerbank?
This prompted me to read a bit. AFAIK there are current limitations on the USB standards. So I guess your powerbank is USB 3 or higher maybe.
Good to know.
I feel the same way as you about this, but I'd hate it if I can't add power on-the-go in any way.
Thanks!

Re: Difference btw Sport, 2 and Plus
Sorry to necro this. Didn't say thanks for the answers.
Also just to hammer it out in stone:
Between the Sport and Plus,
it's button type (push vs. piezo),
wireless charging and battery life (wireless for Plus, but SPort lasts longer on AA)
and screen on Sport being more visible in daylight.

Charge OSTC 2 from powerbank?
Simple question... The wireless charger will it charge fine off a powerbank?
I'm deciding which computer to get and there is a strong argument for replaceable battery but that could depend on whether I can bring external power source as backup charge.
Thanks.

Re: Difference btw Sport, 2 and Plus
Thanks a lot for the input, all of you.
It sounds like the 2 suits me best. I'd rather be sure to charge it overnight than replace batteries.
That ABS body isn't the nicest looking but I doubt I'll find myself wearing it as a fashion statement

Re: Difference btw Sport, 2 and Plus
I'm gonna trust the piezo buttons on the 2 and Plus are a noticeable benefit to the push buttons on the sport.
That narrows it down to if I want long battery life or replaceable battery.
(And housing, but that's a matter of taste and I'm sure both are great and either would grow on me).

Re: Difference btw Sport, 2 and Plus
Oh, thanks! Yea that was informative. (And should indeed be on the website).
When you say "can be fitted with" is this by the user or a choice on purchase?
(Since it's sold out I can't see the purchase options on the website)

Re: Difference btw Sport, 2 and Plus
Yea it is unclear whether the battery in the Plus is one you replace with an AA if you need to or the AA is in addition to the internal one
(and more as a backup solution on a trip without a charger).
Maybe someone can clarify that..

Re: Difference btw Sport, 2 and Plus
And how about the "guts"? Beyond the battery I guess. It strikes me as whatever I choose I won't be missing anything I can't have added for the same price on either. I just have to choose between the button type (A question of reliability?), the size of the thing and whether batteries can ...

Difference btw Sport, 2 and Plus
Deciding on my first dive computer and these hover around the budget.
However it is hard to wrap ones head around exactly to what extent they differ.
Besides battery options, case and button type, are there any differences between these options?
