Re: Ceiling Popping Up - Take 2

Ahh, so it was an accuracy problem because it simulates the ascent as a set of time slices. Smaller time slice, more accurate.

Will this have any effect on the battery?

I thought these things usally used the Schriener equation to calculate the gas loading for a clean profile like a projected ...
Common sense indicates that you stop worrying about this, as you can't reach the jumping ceiling within ascent speed limits anyway?

I don't agree with that. An accurate picture of what my deco is going to be is pretty important to me. I appreciate that it's not changing the ...

Should be 2 itermediate grays:

[pre]
R G B : (R * 32) + (G * 4) + B
0 0 0 : 0 or Black
2 2 1 : 73
5 5 2 : 182

Yes, it was me who posted the original thread.

Nothing major to add, except that my CF55 is 0 too.

Re: Ceiling popping up

Here's an example on OSTC-Planner, a 42m dive for 40 minutes on air

You can see the ceiling getting shallower about the 16 minute mark and the 25 minute mark.

Here's a snippet of the verbose simulation:

16:12 42.0m Deco:
15 m : 1 ' 20 '
12 m : 2 ...

Re: Ceiling popping up

Nope, no deeper stop. I see it whilst still deep.

When I get home I'll try to show an example on the planner.

Ceiling popping up

Hi all,

I've noticed something odd, first in OSTC-planner, and now I think I've seen it on a dive and I'm wondering if it's something to be worried about or not.

I dive gradient factors at the default settings (30/85?) and it seems like it's possible for the decompression ceiling to rise whilst ...

@Stephen

You can always go to https://bitbucket.org/heinrichsweikamp/ ... ode/issues and create an issue there. It shouldn't get forgotten then.

Apnoe mode?

I maybe being stupid, but I can't find anywhere that says what Apnoe mode is.

Can somebody describe what this is?
Is it possibly Apnoe -> Apnea -> Breath Holding -> Free-diving?
actually you don't need to build the code. You can when you want to but there is a software already installed and ready to use.

I understand that, and that's how I expect most people to use it, but as an engineer who has written some deco code in the past I wanted to have a ...

Understandable.

It all comes down to what source control system you want to use.

If you really have to stay with CVS (shudder!) then I ...

Building the code

I saw an OSTC for the first time this week (noticed the display in the water, and then talked to the owner afterwards). Looks like a very nice piece of hardware, but I wanted to get a feel for the software before I bought one.

I noticed the PDF file in the docu folder of the sourcecode release, and ...
