Re: Blank screen on deco
Hi Ciro, Nice dive and well done. Watch out for those DCI symptoms especially CNS related. Slightly more important than diving an OSTC beyond its stated limits. That's one computer that cannot be replaced. I also had an issue with dead pixels in an OSTC Mk2 on the screen in the past and it got progr...

Re: Blank screen on deco
Thanks Matthias. It was only a little beyond 120m B)
I've flashed v2.70 onto the computer again and reset everything.
I'll reconfigure all the gases etc and dive it tomorrow on a wreck in 85m and see what happens.
If the problem persists then I'll send it back to you.
Regards, Stephen

Re: Blank screen on deco
Computer display went blank on descent to wreck at 103m yesterday. I think it went blank at approx 30m. Strange thing is that it has entries in the logbook for both dives so I'm thinking its a bug in the software affecting the display only. Again the computer came back straight away when I surfaced....

Blank screen on deco
Dived HMS Transylvania today off the north coast of Ireland which is 129m deep. I registered 127.9m on the OSTC. On the ascent the OSTC went blank, I think at approx 70m, and was completely unresponsive until I finished the dive and got back on the boat. I'm using v2.70 software. The GFs were 30/80 ...

Re: Ceiling Popping Up - Take 2
Great effort JeanDo. I see the debate above about mathemathical versus practical problem. I would tend to say that it is not a big deal of a practical nature however it is very important to for the product to be able to show great accuracy with its deco calculations both in simulator and real time/d...

Re: CCR setpoint changing with OSTC 2n
I think it would be a nice feature that a lot of owners would like. Personally I do not think it would make a great deal of difference to me. I agree with Konrad's / kscksc approach explained in his post above. Sounds similar to how I do my diving and really the difference between my Vision and OSTC...

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
Seems like this would have been a good opportunity to change the pressure sensor to the 30bar MS5541-30C.
Is there any information as to why this wasn't done? Cost? Incompatibility? Accuracy? Marketing?
Thanks.

Re: Features request : switching GF underwater
Thank Matthias. Can you give some examples of applications other than bailout or emergencies. I'm not very good with deco theory but certainly practice and observation :D I thought the VGM algorithm from the VRx computer to be an interesting idea where you can select different GFs for different phas...

Re: New firmware 2.54beta
No examples whatsoever. The comment was made in reference to discussion (depth limits, additional bailout gases, diluent switches, GF switching etc etc) with other forums members on CCR support of the OSTC and the tendency where I keep getting told that I should be using a DR5 simply because I'm a C...

Re: New firmware 2.54beta
And I'd agree with you if it weren't for the fact that all of this is only user feedback and the users of this forum have zero control over HW product development. HW will take what they like and ignore the rest so there is absolutely no point in restricting suggestions and even less point arguing o...

Re: New firmware 2.54beta
No This could be a long answer and I think we've already discussed some of this before. I'm completely guessing here but you're coming across like you are suggesting that the distinction between OSTC and DR5 is based on the distinction between OC and CCR. I do not believe that at all. Of course only...

Re: Features request : switching GF underwater
I don't think we need it. Whats there is perfect. From memory pressing the right button will show the GFs, setpoint and diluent (and even last stop?). Perfect for checking before the dive.

Re: Features request : switching GF underwater
a) don't display the second GF pair - personally I could even live without it being configurable if it was set to 90/110 or whatever the "pure" Buhlmann algorithm uses b) don't have a menu item - link it to the Bailout menu item instead P.S. gorcio, hansjoerg - I hope my statements didn't ...

Re: Features request : switching GF underwater
Guys, with respect if you're offering up examples of a 40m dive and agreeing with the example then I'd suggest you've completely missed the point of this potential feature. Likewise suggesting that the OSTC is somehow not capable or suitable of having this functionality and users should consider a X...

Re: Features request : switching GF underwater
I'm probably not the right person to be arguing for this feature because perhaps my application is specialised. Just some notes that might help to clarify my perspective: 1. I'm already using the OSTC without GFs - thats aggresive enough for my bailouts. So its set in "emergency mode" for ...

Re: Features request : switching GF underwater
I guess we're heading towards some of the more challenging diving scenarios Hansjoerg. If a rebreather floods that is one of the scenarios where you definitely have to bailout to open circuit. There is a significant chance in those circumstances that the electronics will be compromised by the salt w...

Re: Features request : switching GF underwater
Perhaps I understand the scenario I dive with the OSTC as my secondary decompression computer. My primary computer is an Inspiration Vision. It uses Buhlmanns algorithm and i've set the GFs to 15/85. The OSTC I primarily use for an emergency. Under these circumstances I want to be able to switch it ...
