Re: hw OS Tech 3.07 - Running simulator in large font mode

Ralph, There's a big smile on my face writing this. :) If you actually implement according to my understanding of your description, OSTC will for sure stand out in the crowd. No other dive computer on the market that I'm aware of (and I've really been trying to find alternatives) is even close to ha...

Re: hw OS Tech 3.07 - Running simulator in large font mode

Hi! For deco sanity check, I typically use one of the many guidelines for on the fly deco calculation and compare it with the profile generated by the computer. There are multiple versions available and I've changed models over the years but the one I've been using for the last couple of years is th...

Re: hw OS Tech 3.07 - Running simulator in large font mode

Repeated re-sets of average depth is a standard solution for keeping track of bailout range when doing advanced CCR cave/mine dives. That's why I preferably have access to both total average and stopped average. Stopped average for bailout range, total average for on-the-fly deco calculations to be ...

Re: hw OS Tech 3.07 - Running simulator in large font mode

Too bad... I really enjoyed experiencing the large font view due to reduced eye performance, but I don't really see myself diving without access to both max and total average depth at the moment as I consider them very relevant. Fingers crossed that the standard layout is big enough for me, at least...

hw OS Tech 3.07 - Running simulator in large font mode

Hi, I've stumbled over a problem that I think is related to the simulator in 3.07 Tech, but I'm not fully sure and I haven't been able to test live yet on my OSTC 2. When running simulator with the large font setting enabled, I get a small green&yellow text on top that say e.g. 21m. This number ...

Reintroducing cave bailout (earlier CF59) in hwOS

Hi! After finally being allowed to buy a new computer now that my X1 has died, imagine my disappointment when realizing the cave bailout functionality (CF59) has been removed from the hwOS implementation. Most computers on the market are fairly similar, but this is the one feature that truly stick o...

Re: Feature: Live gascounter for CCR cave bailout.

The functionality is actually the exact opposite of what you are expecting. During bailout you check your pressure gage(es) for actual values. In CCR mode, the bailout counter predicts the needed amount of gas in order to do a complete reverse profile, i.e. to go back to the entrance and/or the last...

Re: Feature: Live gascounter for CCR cave bailout.

Daniel and I made two dives each in a proper cave profile and it seems that it worked flawlessly. Actually seeing the function in front of me made me realize just how much I have actually missed this feature :)

We'll keep testing during the rest of the weekend and get back to you.

Good work!

A weekend full of overhead mine diving is approaching fast, send Daniel the binary for beta testing :)

Thanks a lot so far...

Re: Feature: Live gascounter for CCR cave bailout.

Although annoying with mutual agreements, I totally agree with Daniel :) Reset functionality (as included in the initial feature suggestion) is needed in order to be able to use the counter in a simple way without having to combine with wetnotes. It might not be obvious at first sight, but as soon a...

Re: Feature: Live gascounter for CCR cave bailout.

Looks nice, but I have two comments/questions: 1. CF56 gas consumtion (in bar/min or liter/min) need a wider range than 0 to 25.0. Typically, 25 liters/minute is a lot lower than what most CCR-divers (that I know) would use for bailout planning. In order to avoid introducing a solution that would li...

Re: Feature: Live gascounter for CCR cave bailout.

@wooflock I agree that your suggestion might be a good thing for OC diving, but then again who dives OC these days ;) Honestly I don't personally really see the need for the suggested Oc-functionality, but then again loads of people don't see the need for the CCR bailout gascounter either. Who am I ...

Re: Feature: Live gascounter for CCR cave bailout.

I strongly support this feature, mainly because the request actually originates from myself. As for accuracy, I've done comparisons by calculating the bailout gas requirements recursively using the actual profile as well as by using the suggested method with the calculated average depth as base. Res...

Software Development Kit / IDE questions

Hi all, I'm new to the OSTC platform but have a thorough SW development background. I've been trying to find info on the "software development kit" for OSTC, but have so far failed to get a complete picture. I managed to find a couple of threads in german, but they didn't quite do the tric...
