Re: Upgrade firmware OSTC Sport with Subsurface impossible

I did this same update from 10.63 to 10.64 using Subsurface 4.9.3 and it worked fine for me. I’m using Linux though in case that makes a difference

Re: gradient factors in log

I’d have thought this would show as an ‘event’ on the dive log. I must confess I never change GFs during the dive but I know it’s possible. Could possibly be a question more for the Subsurface and libdivecomputer teams.

Re: gradient factors in log

Subsurface (not Subsurface-mobile) does show the gradient factor, it’s on another tab along with battery voltage etc.

Re: Ostc Sport menu "Config Tanks" and needed pressure

fTTS is Future Time To Surface It's a prediction if what your TTS (time to surface) will be in x minutes. I have mine set at 5mins so I may have a current TTS of 3mins (a direct ascent) but a future TTS of 6mins meaning that I'm within 5mins of going into deco. I find this particularly useful when m...

Ah you got Nigel’s off him then.

I think there is a way to do it using the boot loader and a magnet but I don’t know the procedure, hope someone can tell you how to do it.

Re: OSTC Plus long sleep

I think the advice before was to make sure the compass is calibrated as the computer uses that to sense movement and wake up. I needed to remove/reinsert the battery to get the computer to wake initially but then after recalibrating the compass I've had no issues. Make sure you are on the latest fir...

Re: OSTC Plus won’t wake up

Did you try just using a standard AA battery instead? It could be as simple as a totally flat battery.

Since recalibrating and subsequently updating my firmware this computer has been fine for us.

Confusion surrounding extended stops feature

Can I have some clarification about this setting please. I think this is to delay the gas switch until you reach the decompression ceiling but what behaviour do I get with yes and what behaviour do I get with no? One setting will expect the gas switch at the programmed switch depth and one setting w...

I will keep an eye on it. I recalibrated the compass last night after seeing your message so will see if this happens again.

Pretty sure I had it in every orientation and nothing. I ended up taking the battery out and then reinserted it again and it’s now alive again.

OSTC Plus won’t wake up

My girlfriend has an OSTC plus running the 10.57 firmware. She was looking through the logbook to fill out her logs. 15mins later I was going to change the logbook offset for her to make the numbers line up but it won’t wake up now. I’ve sat it on the charger and the charger went solid green at firs...

Is this a quick re-release? I updated this morning and had the NDL issue, I can't remember what version I updated to though?

It's likely just some settings that are wrong. What are the deco parameters you have set on your computer?

There should be no need to downgrade, just set conservatism to GF and it should behave like you expect.

Re: TTS forecast

So long as the gases are active the dype set to deco and have a change depth set then yes, it should.

If the change depth is 0m then no, it'll be ignored.

Re: hwOS: sport vs tech saturation/desaturation step size

I was seeing similar behaviour and that led me to find this post, using the advice I found in this thread (https://forum.heinrichsweikamp.com/read.php?6,20642) I found that my conservatism being set on 0 was not what I wanted, I actually wanted this set to conservatism = GF. This makes the new OSTS ...

Re: Custom Fuction CF16

I have not noticed that myself but I can kind of see some benefit in it. For example if you go above your deco ceiling then maybe it would be wise to pause the timer and only resume it once you are under the ceiling again to pad out the stops a little I don't think the computer is doing this though....

Re: Custom Fuction CF16

I've never seen anything like this on my OSTC mk2. If it was me, I'd be inclined to take a note of anything you've customised and then reset all CFs back to their default value before reapplying your customisations, if you are not on the latest firmware then take this opportunity to update to this a...

I managed to remove it. No, they are not spring pins, they are solid metal pins, just fitted tight, tapped them through and managed to then pull them free.

How do i remove the case?

I have an old OSTC Mk2 with an Innodive case and the case has broken, someone has given me a replacement bungee backplate for it but how do I remove the old case? Are the pins in the back spring push-pins or something else? I've tried pushing them but they don't move, maybe they are rusted.
