Re: Store compass heading longer?

The bearing is indeed lost on several occasions. In my development code, i just changed it to only get cleared on entering the main menu. On entering main menu actually only for reason to have something simple to get it cleared at all, because with that change it elsewise wouldn't clear never ever a...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.97 released

Fully with you - bar is the prefered measure under water as it is what is shown on the SPGs and Liters is for the planning phase when one hasn't decided on the cylinder sizes yet. The "Set Marker" function places an artificial alarm into the dive recording which can be shown along the othe...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.97 released

I checked the Safety Stop Countdown in simulation mode and found it to run accurate - so it needs more testing in this point. Maybe you can provide a procedure that reproduces the problem? What i did see "hopping" was the dive-timeout countdown that is shown after the dive in the upper rig...

Hi Claude, thanks for your feedback and questions! We'll have a detailed look in the simulation results you provided and come back on you soon. Some first answers to: OC Gas Setup > OC Gas List: It would be nice to be able to program a depth of change on the descent for gas "Travel" with t...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.97 released

Hi Rob, this feature request was sure to come up... ;-) I'll put it on my ideas list but please do not tell Matthias about it as i'm already pumping features into the hwos code at a rate he hardly can keep pace with... ;-) Anyhow, right from now you can set no-fly to altitutes of 1000 / 2000 / 3000 ...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.97 released

Hi Dennis, in setting "flying", a target pressure of 0,6 bar is used. This is the value used by Bühlmann in his books. Actually, current commercial passenger aircrafts with pressurised cabins have a cabin pressure that is a bit higher than 0,6 bar, which works to the safe side. In aircraft...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.97 released

Hi Michael, thanks for the info! Were the deviations from regular seconds massive or just slight? If safety stop countdown was shown i assume you were inside NDL (i.e. no deco). The ascent graph isn't in the alternate screen on purpose, it would graphically collide with other elements... Cheers, Ralph

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.97 released

Hi Alex, flying-after-diving waiting time is a kind of "poor cousin" in diving. Most dive computer implementations stick to the guidelines put out by DAN etc. - the well known 12 / 18 / 24 hours intervals (well, the OSTC4 too). Hence, there are count-down timers in the code that simply get...

Re: hwOS Tech: 2.97 released

Hi Didier, thanks for the honor granted, but we'll keep the magic 3.0 for a version with an even improved advice/attention/warning system, better-gas function, a new CCR cave bailout prediction/warning and support for the new pressure transmitters on the OSTC 2 TR family member... :-) Have fun, Ralph

Re: OSTC2 V2.96 Gas consuption

OK, as i'm also a CCR diver and intro-cave holder, you got me! One last question: your faithful MK2 doesn't know if you are already on the way out again and will continue clocking up your bailout exit needs although your bailout gas need will a) decrease due to the way out becoming shorter, but b) i...

Re: OSTC2 V2.96 Gas consuption

Hello Eric, sorry, i missed the cave diving part of your request in my last answer. As i'm not direct part of HeinrichsWeikamp but "only" an open source community programmer who did the gas-needs code and some of the new CCR mode stuff, can you give me a summary of the former CF59 function...

Re: OSTC2 V2.96 Gas consuption

Hi Eric, the CF59 tried to calculate how much gas you have used, assuming the SAC rate you configured before the dive matches your actual SAC rate during dive. Any extra consumption it can't be aware of, nor any losses due to leaks, free-flow, etc. The new gas-needs calculation computes how much gas...

Re: Some translation help needed for French and Italian Firmware

Hello ClaudeDive, i was a little bit confused about the term 'first' gas in the beginning, too. Sure it's not a tech diving term, instead and much simpler the first gas the computer will pick from the configured gases at the beginning of the dive. Yes, 'first' could be renamed to 'bottom', i would l...

Re: OSTC2 V2.96 Gas consuption

CF59 is discontinued in the moment. This new function is supposed to warn you - while still at the bottom segment - when you are going to becoming short of Deco / Bailout gas later in the dive... :-)

Re: OSTC2 V2.96 Gas consuption

Hi Eric,

have you driven the OTSC into deco? The Gas-Needs calculation starts not before you are in deco because it needs deco stops to do the calculation...
Your parameter settings looks ok!

Re: Some translation help needed for French and Italian Firmware

Hi ClaudeDive, the color-change has not been implemeted into the main code yet, up to now it's only in the proof-of-concept Version Matthias sent. The designators 'first', 'travel' and 'deco' may be a little bit misleading in 'tec speech conventions', anyhow this is the HWOS' understanding: all gase...

Hi all,

an OSTC with Air Integration is out now, it just had its roll-out at the BOOT 2018 last week. Its dubbed OSTC 2 TR and can handle up to 5 pressure transmitters.
