Firmware update beim OSTC Mk.2, 2N or 2C - so wird's gemacht
Firmware update with the OSTC Mk.2, 2N or 2C - how it works.
Updating is very easy if you have 1.90 or later (e.g. all 2N and 2C users!) and using Windows.
1. Get new bootloader v2: http://heinrichsweikamp.com/service/software
2. Follow the step-by-step instructions:
1. Connect OSTC with USB to your PC
2. Unpack all files from the ZIP file. Do NOT start the tinybld.exe right out of the ZIP file!
3. Start Bootloader v2, click on "Web Download"
4. Select COM-Port of OSTC, click on "Update Firmware"
-> Wait about 1 minute. Done!
If you have firmware <1.90:
- Download bootloader v1
- Select OSTC, Mk.2/2N/2C
- click on "Update Firmware"
- select HEX file
- "reboot" the OSTC from the Reset menu and (within 5 seconds)
- Click on OK and wait about 30sec.
Comments:
1. The note "Building MD2 Hash - please wait" is normal and occurs once after every reboot. This process requires about 90seconds.
2. If the Menu entry "Reboot OSTC" is not available (e.g. a wrong firmware has been installed), the reset can be triggered with a magnet on the back of the OSTC Mk.2. "Reboot OSTC" and the magnet have the exact same effect on the OSTC Mk.2
3. Never toggle a reset with the magnet if the update process is running (red LED blinking or "Please Wait" is displayed)!
