Post by Obu44 »

Hello,

Is there on OSTC 3 and OSTC sport the ascent speed and the ascent graph as on the OSTC 2 ?

Thanks

Hi,

I also would like to know that!
I didn't find much on this on the internet or the forum, but I guess that's the last question I'd like to be answered before I buy the OSTC Sport ....

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the really quick answer! :-)
You don't happen to have a screenshot or picture available?
Looking on the available pics on the internet, I can't see how this is working below the depth ...
for example:

Thanks!

As already said, it's under the depth in "m/min".

Is this really so hard to imagine? ;)

thanks!

probably a stupid question, but does it look all the same on the SPORT??
I was referring to the Sport and I take it that the screen layout is different, at least what I could see from screenshots until now.
;-)

Hi Andreas,

On the "sport" it's next to the depth, on the right side. There is, indeed, no space below the depth on the "sport".

There's a picture of the ascent indicator in the just renewed OSTC manual.

If you are talking about the sport manual, I do not find the page. Can you help? Thank you

See picture attached - this is from the new 1.82beta from OSTC3.
You have ascend rate with text by default under the Depth value: e.g. +60m/min.
...and if you enable the graphical speed indicator, VSI bar right to the Depth value.

All these sceen shots are taken from an OSTC3. It would be nice NOT to mix the sport to the other models. This creates big confusion. Can Somebody show a screenshot of the sport with the ascent rate. Thank you.

Here you go: +83m/min ascend speed in the latest 10.18 - Sorry that we couldn't help you faster...

looking to buy a new computer for my wife (I have a OSTC 2C), I was wondering if the new OSTC2 has the speed ascent indicator : m/sec, graph or both ? and is it possible to configure the value at which the indicator turns in Red (alarm) like it was possible with the 2N and 2C ?

thanks for answer

Hi Titus,

The latest (beta for OSTC2, cR and OSTC 3) has both: Speed in m/min and the graph. This is the latest speed table:

[pre]
; use a depth-dependent ascent rate warning
; depth(m): 6 >12 >18 >23 >27 >31 >35 >39 >44 >50
; speed(m/min): 7 8 9 10 11 13 15 17 18 19 20 (warning)
; speed(m/min): 5 6 7 8 8 10 12 13 14 15 15 (attention)
[/pre]

This is currently not configurable. It can be toggled between fixed 10m/min warning and the above table only.

My guess is that what you are talking about, do not relate to the sport. Right?

I think that I have already said this. If not, let me repeat that I think that messages should always mention what OSTC model, one is talking about. Thank you for the clarification, Matthias

Hello Matthias,

thanks a lot for your answer.
Does that mean that for OSTC (2, cR and 3), we have 2 options of warning :
- variable limits but not configurable (speed limits being dependant of depth). It is one set of limits
- constant limits (all above 10m/min gives a warning/attention)

but the speed standard stays at 10m/min

is my understanding correct ?

Thanks
