Hi,
I have an issue with the new SW on my OSTC 3 #3309 when downloading through USB the dives done with v 3.07.
With Subsurface I get the error: error parsing the header
With Diving log: it goes a bit further: I get the list of dives but with 0 values time/depth for the new ones.
USB connection with Companion and Subsurface works fine (e. g. time sync)

thanks for advise

Hi,

I had this error also with subsurface, It seems that some dives are not readen correctly by subsurface.

There are some infos on the subsurface forum

It is a bug in the 3.05 and 3.07 firmware in regards to pp02.
I have reported it already.

No major trouble with my OSTC Plus (3.07, Bluetooth) and Subsurface (4.9.3). Just need to retry twice sometimes.

Regards.

Updated my OSTC2 from 3.01 to 3.07 recently.

Both OC and CC dives are correctly displayed (Last dive, logbook) and computed (desat time) on the OSTC itself. I can transfer OC dives as usual to Divelog/Diving Log on PC or iPhone including all dive and profile data.

For CC dives however date and time but no dive data (the dives are all 0 mins at 0 meters) are transferred to PC or iPhone apps (tried numerous times). There are always three weird profile data entries at 2 and 4 seconds with various depths and one at 6 seconds with 0 meters depth.

Since everything worked fine right before the update, it looks like there's a bug in 3.07.

Update: this behaviour applies only to NEW dives done with version 3.07 - I can re-download older CC dives done with version 3.01 also under version 3.07 without problems.

the same troubles as described by Alex except I have an OSTC 3; the dives wrongly downloaded are CC done with 3.07.

Hi,

Jef from "libdivecomputer" http://libdivecomputer.org/ will include a work-around for these dives. Since most of the download software uses his library this is only a matter of time until you get the data again. The next release will have this fixed, of course. The issue is understood now (and is again only in the single-language firmware versions) and fix is under test already.

regards,
Matthias

I can always use some extra data to test the workaround.

To download the raw data from your OSTC, you can use the libdivecomputer command-line tool:

https://libdivecomputer.org/builds/stab ... dctool.exe

Download two times, using these options:

dctool.exe -vv -l ostc3-download.log -f ostc3 download -o dive.%n.bin -f raw -t bluetooth
dctool.exe -vv -l ostc3-dump.log -f ostc3 dump -o ostc3.bin -t bluetooth

For non-bluetooth models, replace "-t bluetooth" with the name of the serial port (e.g. COM3). When done, email the *.log and *.bin files to jef@libdivecomputer.org.

I have the same problem... downloading all of the OC dives worked without problems, CC dives break subsurface. Guess i'll have to wait for a new subsurface version that comes with the new library version.

Jef, i sent some logs to you as requested.

I have build the latest subsurface and confirming it works for downloading my ccr dives now, it can also be downloaded from github if you can't build it.

Hey Steve, can you maybe point me to the correct link on github or the subsurface page? Subsurface is still at 4.9.3 and comes with the old libdivecomputer.
I can't find any updated windows binaries or an android apk anywhere...

Hello all,

I have the same problem with the OSTC 4 and the newest firmware version 1.5.3.

Is this problem already known there with this hardware/firmware?

With the latest version of Subsurface I have still this problem.

Regards

I tried again with the android mobile version after it got an update a few weeks ago, and that worked. Maybe you can try that?
The Windows version is still the old one...

Thanks, I tried that, but with two Android devices and the OSTC4 (FW: v1.5.3) with the current susurface-mobile app I have similar problems.

All devices (PC, Mobile) begins with the download and breaks nearly at the same dives. (approx last 18 dives until september 2019)
On the PC with the error above, in the android devices without error message.

I don't get the older dives from the OSTC logbook. :?

edit: maybe I should open a new thread :|

Well, are those dives CCR Dives? If not it might be a separate problem. :)

Oh that would be nice :D but all Dives in the logbook are Open Circuite Dives. :)
