OSTC4 Pairing issue

Post by Raff »

Hi,
I am experiencing difficulties pairing a newly purchased OSTC4:-

Windows 10 PC (64-bit)
OSTC Companion v3 appears to have successfully installed
Bluetooth enabled on PC and in OSTC4 settings
OSTC4 lists as paired device ("OSTC4-00264")
However, when I attempt connection via OSTC Companion the following error message is generated:
"OSTC4 selected.
Connecting...
Port is not defined.
Port : Port is not defined.
Error: Port : Port is not defined."

It was my understanding from the manual that driver installation is not required. From Devices>Properties>Hardware I don't see a COM port defined so as to enter into OSTC Companion.

Would much appreciate some advice please. Thanks.

What port is set in the companion (Small gear Icon)?

COM port field is currently blank in Companion settings.

Then this error "Port not defined" makes sense ;)

Check in Windows 10 Bluetooth settings -> Advanced Bluetooth settings which com port has been assigned to the OSTC4 and just enter it in this field. Like "COM3".

Thanks for this further advice. I had not realised that the Port settings needed to be accessed via 'Further Bluetooth Options'. Added to which, another peripheral was interfering....

With a bit more trial and error, now have it working.

I still think my old OSTC 2n is great, but the OSTC4 is a fantastic dive computer.
