Computer won't stop diving

Post by swissdiving »

Yesterday we dived in the Pertusio cave, 1830m above sea level. Excellent diving. We returned back to our 300m above sea level and this morning I noticed that the computer has been diving for the last 1025 minutes at somewhere around one meter.

The computer must have started diving once we started descending from the dive site.

a. how can I stop the computer from diving (beyond waiting until the battery is flat)
b. how can it be prevented that the computer goes into dive mode when the altitude changes (flying would be similar situation)

My 2N doesn't have this problem...
Cheers,

Hansjoerg

Hallo Hansjoerg,

Someone else reported us a similar issue. Seems that there is some issue with dive mode detection in high altitude conditions in the 1.5.0. I'll check...

OSTC4 allow a hard reset:
- place on charger
- toggle a reset with a magnet on the left housing side of the OSTC4

Thx Matthias, yes I did remember that someone mentioned something similar but did not find the posting.

In the end the ostc run out of power. More than 22h continous dive time is not bad!

Thx for the tip for the reset.
Cheers,

hello, it's the same problem for me. after driving through a mountain pass at 2000m, my computer went on its own. my problem is that here I do not have a charger or magnet ... so I am doomed to find a computer. it's really not a pleasant situation knowing that my computer comes back from repair and that the update was made on this occasion.

In a case like this, you can safely remove the battery from the OSTC4. The battery compartment is intend to be user-opened.
