The new ostc4 I got, does not have the indentation for the charger anymore. Its very difficult to place the charger in the correct spot to charge the computer. Any tricks?

Hi,

Here's an image of the unit without the backplate. You can see the receiving coil under the blue potting compound.

Slow charging usually means magnetic losses went into the alloy housing and not in resonance into the receiver.

Thanks Sven. I now just hold it with a bungee in place. That works perfect too.[img][/img]

I've had a lot of trouble getting my OSTC4s with the S8 connector to charge. It would almost always go solid green and then start flashing continuous red and not charge. Tried many different USB chargers of varying output ratings without a difference. The only time I could get it to reliably charge is if I could get it to slowly flash green (slow rate charging), but I didn't know exactly what to do to make thaf happen.

I finally figured it out! The S8 cable needs to be more or less aligned with the cable on the charger! It doesn't even need to be perfectly aligned by any means. If I do this I can consistently get it into the slow charge mode (slowly flashing green) and charge it in about 12-16 hours.
