The date shows as 17/01/12. If there was a version 3 surely someone would have been aware before now.
OSTC 2N #4571 South Devon and loving it

But this upside-down OSTC-Logo looks confusing.

And what's written about OSTC 3 in the booklet to the right? Did you have a look at it?

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
April 2013!
OSTC 3 : http://www.innodive.com/store/ordinateu ... ?langue=en
DR X : http://www.innodive.com/store/ordinateu ... ?langue=en
The french description are more complete but a bit unclear (to me, at least). It seems that both units include a 3D compass and (optical) connectivy to hw HUD. I'm not sure exactly what the last part means, probably that 02 sensor results collected by the HUD can be displayed by the OSTC 3 (and the DR X but it was already the case with the DR 5). Anyway, our hosts will probably comment soon

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
Hopefully, support for the OSTC 2n will continue for a while when the OSTC 3 is released...

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
If you follow the description in the link above "Our OSTC 3 is the perfect fit for recreational divers with an interest in technically challenging dives." then i'm wondering if the OSTC 3 replaces the OSTC 2n or not.

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
According to the French description, the hardware is updated as the 2N used a PIC18F4685 while the 3 uses a PIC18F87K22 (compare http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/De ... e=en026324 and http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/De ... e=en546891). The new microcontroller is 1.6 times faster and seems to use less power (autonomy is advertised as twice the 2N ones). Maybe will it feature VPM, who knows? Apart from that, functionnalities seem to be identical at least on the innodive website (5+1 gaz, Bühlmann ZH-L16C + GF, etc.).

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
I'll look forward to have a closer look at the OSTC3 and DRX at the Boot in Düsseldorf.

Hi,
We'll have OSTC3 and DRx on the boot (3G05) - shipping will start in spring time. The 2N will remain in production (It's actually quite a success for us).
For details: Just be a bit patient or pick-up one of our nice new flyers on the "boot" (:P)
Cheers,
Matthias

Matthias,
What about an upgrade option for those 2N owner who would like to "trade up" to a OSTC3?
I like the idea of the electronic compass.

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
First of all the OSTC 3 has to be better than the OSTC 2N. Just a compass doesn't make the difference...
Matthias, you already printed flyer? Then it should be easy to serve us with the PDF's...

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
Among the differences I've noted (in the French description) that both new models have an IPS LCD display (like some high end tablets or smartphones) whereas the older ones have OLED displays. This might reduce slightly the angle of view (160° versus 170°) and the production price (and even power consumption, if I understand correctly), but based on the pictures above, the screen looks really good. Also the DRx should be way lighter than the DR 5 (almost half the weight).
I'm considering going trimix on a cruise in late May, I hope the ostc 3 will ship by then

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
Seems like this would have been a good opportunity to change the pressure sensor to the 30bar MS5541-30C.
Is there any information as to why this wasn't done? Cost? Incompatibility? Accuracy? Marketing?
Thanks.

Since we continue the OSTC2 series - this is assured. I hope to have the new stable ready in February.
The OSTC3 will use a different (due to the complete new hardware) and less customizable firmware.
Cheers,
Matthias

Less customizable right now or forever? The OSTC 2 has been so flexible and you've been so responsive to customer's requests that one can dream to have the same level of support and lifespan for the 3 series.
Cheers.

What is the benefit of new buttons?

Re: Ostc 3 in Paris
Customer requests can be annoying too... >:D< I guess sometimes life would be much easier for HW with a less customizable firmware. Especially if you have such a wide range of customers (OC Sporties up to CCR Tekkis). Just remember that other manufactures don't even offer a community platform like a forum...

Think about removing about 50% of the custom functions which were rarely used and have most hardware-related parameters hard-coded. There still will be a lot of parameters to play with.

This would fit for the OSTC 2N too... :)o

They allow a smaller form factor. The smaller form factor allows an affordable computer with a milled alloy housing (The OSTC3 is only 64 mm x 62 mm x 22 mm).
