Travel Gas

Post by DTR.Diver66 »

Hello Matthias,

what about the desire of a travel gas in the gas list to get that, when active set before the first gas flows in the calculation such as the gas list DR5/DRx.

What's your definition of a "Travel Gas"?

Hello Matthias,

For example i would like to simulate the following dive and then perform. First gas TX 21/35, deco gas NX 50. But I want to start with a travel gas TX 50 to 21m. Gas exchange down at 21m but I can only set for ascension. I would like a gas as a travel gas for example, define TX 50 to 21m on the way down and then change to the selected gas set from me first. A lot of diver would like to have this feature, too.

Just setup a second NX50 as "first gas" with change depth=0m. Since it's very unlikely that you'll get into decompression during the descent with NX50 to 21m there's no need to take a decompression prediction with the 21/35 bottom gas into account.

Hello Matthias,

ok,is it possible to change the gas names instead of gas G1-G5; G1 T = Travel, G2 B = Bottom, G3-G5 D = Deco like the DR5

Hello Matthias,

so if I do that how you say it, put a second NX50 as the first gas and set the TX21/35 to active, it is not considered in the simulator. The example with TX21/35 is fictitious, a better dive with TX17/50 as a bottom gas. That's the problem, so maybe the inclusion of a travel gase in the gaslist. That's the problem, so maybe the integration of the travel gas makes sence. Thus it is taken into account in the decompression calculation.

Hi DTR Diver

Do you really want to take 1 or 2 minute of NX50 during ascent down to 20m into your deco calculation ?

Hello Matthias,

I have simulated some multiple dives, the decoration is not large. It is therefore not necessary to involve a travel gas in the calculation. It would be nice to have the letters T = Travel Gas, B = Bottom Gas and D = Deco Gas in the gaslist, as in DR5/DRx.

But what is in the case that the path takes a longer time with this NX-gas?

For example see here:

I would still prefer a "travel-gas-option".

Besides from not being called "T" or "Travel Gas" you can use it with the current firmware. Just configure it "active" with 0m change depth and select it after starting the dive.
