PpO2 max bottom gas vs. deco gas

Post by Ludo »

Hi,

Would it be possible to implement two different PpO2 max ceilings:
. one for the bottom gas
- one for deco gas

Some federations use e.g. 1.4 bar for the bottom gas, and 1.6 bar for deco gases.
I would like to use different settings for those gases types, I'm sure it will be used by other tec divers too.

Best regards
Ludo

Hi Matthias,

I have already requested this feature in my subject "OSTC3 - Info MOD and pO2 max" April 11, 2014 10:54 p.m.

Matthias, it would be great to do,

Regards,

Cheers ;)

Hi There,

I'm in the same situation. I have to set my bottom gas to 1.6 instead of 1.4 to be sure to use my O2 tank as soon I can...

Thanks a million to implement this feature in future release.
Cheers,
Emmanuel

What about just displaying the ppO2 in the "change depth" menu, next to the END/MOD line?

This is what I mean:

Adding two different ppO2 warning levels will require more changes to the deco code what we want to avoid...

Matthias

Looks great.

What will happen during a dive, if I exeed the MOD?

Nothing. You get a ppO2 Warning. The OSTC gives the information you need but all decisions ("Go up", "Change Gas" ) must be made by the user.

Hi Matthias,

Super, the mockup with the setting of specific P02 for each gas,

I hope soon in the next update,

It would also be great to have about the diving mode, MOD value display in red above the gas used,

>>>it would also be great to have about the diving mode, MOD value display in red above the gas used

please don't do that - red means warning - MOD is an information. in my opinion MOD ist something you need during diveplaning and eventually during gas change. not in the normal dive mode

Hi,

No matter the color for display MOD, but the MOD information is important in diving when changing gases but also as a safety reminder every time we are close to the MOD during the dive,

Other information, like on the mockup of my previous post, as "EAD / END" are very useful for planning the dive, but completely useless during the dive,

It would be preferable, for example, to replace them with check information such as the values the P02 Max of bottom gas and The PO2 Max of gases Deco,

Hi! In my opinion, adding the MOD and ppO2 max settings to the in-dive display is not adding any value, it just clutters it with unneccesary information. I vote that it should not be added. The current pO2 level should be enough.

Hi Matthias,

In the next OSTC3 update or in beta, would it be possible to display "EAD & MOD" as OSTCSport for the dive mode and the simulator,

If in addition we could set the max pO2 separately for the background gas and gas deco, that would be great,

EAD and MOD makes sense for a nitrox computer

in the OSTC3 i would suggest to show
END and MOD

i support also two diffrent max O2 levels für travel/bottom gas and for decompression gas

______________
NO, because "EAD" (N2 toxicity) is also the reference for Trimix including for the choice of "Best Mix" which is not the case for "END" which is a value that incorporates the toxicity of O2 and N2 ,

On the other hand I think "EAD / END" are very useful for planning the dive, but completely useless with in display during the dive,

How do you use "EAD / END" during your dive?

I think instead of "EAD / END" it would be better to have "pO2 Max / MOD" in display for current gas in use, such information is a useful reminder of safety Maxi parameters for this gas during the dive,

_______________
YES But in the hypoxic Trimix dive "travel gas" is used during the descent but also during the deco,

So we need to be able to adjust the pO2 Max for the following gases:

- T: Travel & deco gases (eg 1.6 b)> and NO Travel & Bottom Gases

- B: Bottom Gas (eg 1.4 b)

- D: deco Gas (eg 1.6b)
