Adding gas mid dive

Post by BigPimp »

As title says really.

Suppose I was on a dive and for one reason or another I need to add a gas, or more importantly remove a gas, but importantly, one which is not an active gas.

Let's say for talks sake,
G1 = 21/0 active
G2 = 40/0 not active
G3 = 21/0 not active
G4 = 21/0 not active
G5 = 21/0 not active

Now I understand I can add a gas by left button > menu > gas list and add in, say an 80/0 which I have been given by a buddy to accelerate my deco.

Question 1) will the ostc recalculate deco based on the new gas being added?

Question 2) how can I remove a gas from a dive.

Example - G1 and G2 are active, but I've had a free flow on G2.
The ostc has calculated my deco obligations for the dive based on the 2 active gases, but in the example above G2 is now not going to be used as I have suffered a free flow on my stage.
My buddy has handed me his 80% stage to aid with accelerated deco.

How do I tell the ostc, mid dive, that I want to switch off the G2 and add in G6?

Thanks

Hi,

to add another gas:

1 left - "Menue"
1 right - enter
1 right - "Gaslist" enter
5 left - "More"
1 right - enter
1, 2, 3 or 4 left - choose
x right - adjust G6 ( gas 6 )
x left till top - "G6"
1 right - choose "G6" to become the active gas in use

Your new defined gas G6 is now your active gas and your TTS will be calculated accordingly.

To delete a gas from the active gas list:

1 left - "Menue"
1 right - enter
1 right - "Gaslist" enter
5 left - "More"
1 right - enter
5 left - "More"
1 right - enter
1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 left - choose a white active gas
1 right - change the selected white active gas to a blue inactive gas
x left till top - "Close"
1 right - menue closed

Note: only gases with a pre-definded switch depth are considered active in terms of TTS calculation, thats the ones with the white letters on the second gaslist.
Once an active gas is switched to inactive blue ( e.g. lost gas ) it will no more be considered for the TTS calculation.
Gases without a pre-defined switch depth are always blue in the second gas list and can't be switched to white active.
They will also not be considered for the TTS-calculation until switched physically in use ( active ) from the first gas-list.

Hope this helps, Reiner

Reiner, thank you very much for a very clear explanation.

I had forgotten correct use of the menu within menu by pressing the enter button

Thank you very much again
