OSTC 2 v2017 : firmware version

Hi everybody,

I've planned to purchase the OSTC 2 v2017 diving computer.
I'de like to get explanation / confirmation about the actual firmware for the "standard" version = hwOS sport ( NOT hwOS tech )

I can't find any release for such model into the following dedicated firmware page :
http://heinrichsweikamp.com/service/firmwares

Does it mean that actually, there's no firmware updated and no update available ?

I've found on HW forum some topics relating the update of firmware.


Any comments or explanations should please me.

Hello Aoky,

the OSTC 2 uses either the hwOS Sport or Tech firmware. Both are updated regularly (e.g. today and yesterday ) .

I agree with you but i can't any update of firmware dedicated to OSTC 2 ( OS Sport version ).

However,
I've noticed a firmware update to OSTC 2 dedicated to OS Tech edition ...

IT shouldn't be the same one or it hasn't been designed for OSTC 2 OS sport version

Could you confirm me ?

Hello,

Use hwOS Tech for all OSTC cR, OSTC 2 (2015), OSTC 3, OSTC Plus (In the Tech Version) or OSTC 2 (2017 in the Tech version).

hwOS Sport can be installed on all OSTC Sport, OSTC 2, OSTC 3 and OSTC Plus.

Is it possible to upgrade later, a "sport" firmware to a "tech" firmware following new requirements ?

I haven't noticed any upgrade from the wesite of the distributors known

You can upgrade all OSTC Plus and new OSTC 2 from the SPORT to the TECH version. Update costs 140EUR. Contact us for details if you are interested: info@heinrichsweikamp.com
