Hi,

there is a new Version of HWOS Config availible, now switched to release.
I have deactivated the alpha test phase, as this is the first tim i'm releasing a app in playstore i dont know exactly what happens to the already installed versions.
What is new:
New: Nav Menu
New: Setting - Show all bluetooth devices
New: Show hardwarebyte options instead of OSTC type
Fix: some labeltext changes
Fix: Sort firmwarefiles descending and preselecting the latest version

Hallo,

eine neue Version von HWOSConfig für Android ist verfügbar, jetzt als Release Version. Ich habe die Alpha Testphase beendet, aber da ich das so zum ersten mal mache bin ich mir nicht sicher was mit den installierten Alpha versionen passiert.

Was ist neu:
Neu: Nav Menu
Neu: Setting - Zeige alle Bluetooth Geräte
Neu: Zeige Hardwarebyte Optionen anstelle von OSTC Typ
Fix: div.

Next step in HWOS Config is saving the actual configuration form the connected OSTC in a file and reading the configuration from the file to a OSTC.

This idea came up when i read the discussion from Ralph and ClaudeDive March 14, 2018 03:42AM
... only because i have mentioned ClaudDive.

Dear Rob,
First of all - thank you for the wonderful job you've done so far and please accept my apologies for not being able to read, speak or write in German.
Does the app support OSTC Plus? I recently got my new dive comp and there's no way I can connect it to my PC so I was hoping to do this via your app but while my OSTC is shown on the Bluetooth list of my Android device, program tells me a connection cannot be established and I should put my device in BT mode (which has already been done). No idea what to do.
Many, many thanks.

Hi Delyan,

English is abosule no poblem.
The App supports all OSTC with HWOS Firmware and Bluetooth.
So yes OSTC Plus is supported.

First you should download the Firmware (Tech or Sport) for your device.
The lower right Button that is selectable when no OSTC is connected.

You already paired your OSTC with your Android device?
If so you can find the name of the OSTC ( OSTC+Serialnumber ) in the list of Bluetooth devices. Select the OSTC with the upper combobox,

Enable Bluetooth on your OSTC, than you have 4 Minutes to press the connect Button (Upper left) after that your Device Serialumber is shown and the Type (Tech oder Sport) is preselected.
If you have downloaded the latest firmware select the version you like and upload it to the device by pressing the lower right button.

Regards

Hello all,

I confirm, OSTCTools for Android works fine with my OSTC Plus, on Android 6.0.1.

Did all this, step by step. Tried also with tech FW. App still tells me my OSTC is not in BT mode (although it is and also paired) and I should put it in BT mode. No luck connecting with Companion and Planner either. I'll try to send it back and hopefully get a Shearwater instead.
Thank you for your patience and for your kind support.

Got it working finally!
OSTC products seem to be very sensitive to Bluetooth technology used with them. After three attempts on different Android devices I finally got it connected with the fourth one. Same with USB Bluetooth dongles - tried several before connecting successfully to my Windows 7 (64 bit) PC.
Thank you, Rob. Thank you too, Didier.

Hi. My phone is Lenovo P70 with Android 5.1 and it is one of the devices that I had no success with. The other two belonged to friends - a tablet and a Motorolla phone but I am not aware of models and Android versions. I was finally able to connect my ÒSTC Plus device to a Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 with Android 5.0.1 and everythong went nice and smooth. Asus BT400 was the dongle that worked at once.
Once again - great work with this lovely program. Simple and user friendly!
