Retry, this is a general error of the transmission being interrupted.

And don't worry about the 'erase firmware' message - it's indeed not erased before the new one is successfully transfered and verified after read-back.

Thank you Ralph for your answer.
I do not know if it's related, but I lost my logbook after these failures ...

If using Bluetooth, try to put the OSTC closer to the BT sender and make sure your battery has sufficient power left. Exchanging of the firmware is not started in case the battery is found to be too drained, but the BT receiver inside of the OSTC also needs sufficient battery voltage, with the exact voltage required varying from chip to chip over the years of production, so it's not checked in firmware.

Loosing the logbook is a very rare issue, probably you do have a battery low issue that interfeared with the BT data transmissions...

Yes, i'm using Bluetooth. My battery is 74% up.
Do you think is too low ?

I will try your suggestion after charging battery.

Hi,

After recharging the battery (Level 99% ; Voltage 4.1v).
The firmware upgrade to 3.01 is OK.

Thank you for your help !

Hi Ralph
Sorry to ask but although I have been owning and using 2 OSTCs for approx 2 years I am quite new to the forum and to this whole open source process of software development/upgrade: do you work for HW or are you a independent user/developer?
You seem to know a lot...

Hi Jean luc,

thank you for your questions. My state is "independent user/developer". I bought an OSTC cR about 2 years ago to hook it to my Inspi CCR. When i found out that the whole firmware is laid open, i started to get myself into the code, first for understanding what the OSTC is doing and then made up ideas on what could be done even better or more. With a little help from Matthias i was able to set up the compile chain on my computer and since then i do firmware development, first hand to have the coolest tech dive computer for my own use, but i also hand over all my updates to Matthias. Over the course of the time i turned over almost every line of the code, that's why i'm quite familiar with how the OSTC operates. By reading, understanding and improving the code i learned a lot on how to calculate deco schedules, but also - in mutual benefit - fed in my tech diving experiance, especially in the field of CCR functions. Doing so, over the course of the time it happens to get to know some internal details bejond the software layer, but there's actually not much needed to know about to do OSTC programming. I dive with my own code and do a lot of testing on it, but i don't give my code directly to others. Instead it goes to Matthias at HW, where it is independently tested, then put out as beta here in the Forum and finally finds its way to official release. In the moment, my personal OSTC is about 1/2 year of development ahead of the 3.01 :-)

cheers,
Ralph

Tks Ralph. Impressive and quite cool when one gets to dive with his own code ;)

One more question : how deep can you use the OSTCs? I used my ostc plus and ostc 2 to 110m. they are rated to 120m by HW I think? Other model can go deeper?
Cheers

Hi,

The "small" units (all current models) work up to 120m, the OSTC4 200m.

Hi Ralph & Matthias,

Reading the explainations of Ralph, I try to find the source code of the OSTC, and I could not find them.
Are they available somewhere?

What is the compile chain?

Thanks

Hello,
After update to hwOS Tech 3.01 my OSTC2 shows battery Level 131% ; Voltage 4.0v.
I have a version with inductive recharge of the battery.
Direct after the update everything looked good. Battery level was around 80% if I remember right.
Now, two weeks later (without charging) it shows 131%.

Any advice?

Best regards

Battery is not set to it's correct value "T2" (Most likely T0). Reset this from the Reset Menu -> Reset Battery.

Wow.. That was fast.
Set it to T2 and it seems to be o.k. now.
Thank you!
