hwOS tech: Version 3.14 Beta 3
Hi all,
Attached to this post, you can download the beta version for the upcoming hwOS version. Beta versions can only be installed on TECH enabled OSTC.
Besides smaller, uncritical fixes (e.g. in the language files) there are basically two changes compared to the 3.13:
- Simplified handling when using inactive gases during the dive (For unplanned gas changes) (Thanks to User enRigo for helping with this, see: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=22147 )
- the big layout display got a new dive menu with larger fonts (Preliminary in this version): How to install this version: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14509
Feedback please here in this post but please be patient if you have questions.
A few years ago somebody posted here "It's called holiday for a reason." -> Our office will be closed for the next week or so

Matthias

Re: hwOS tech: Version 3.14 Beta 2
Loaded this on my OSTC 2 and today did a dive. Worked great but when I went to download the dive using Subsurface, it downloaded every dive. Something wrong?

Hi,
No, this seems unrelated to me. Maybe you checked the "Download all dives" box in the subsurface downloader?
There are no changes regarding the download or logbook in this version.
regards,
Matthias

Okay, I did nothing different to downloading that I know of and yesterday it worked okay, only downloading that day's dive. Strange, never happened before.

Re: hwOS tech: Version 3.14 Beta 2
Hi,
did a dive and played a little bit with the Simulator. Big fonts are nice, and Gas change (to deactivated mixes) with updated deco plan is more intuitive now. I discovered only two small layout bugs on my OSCT2...
1) With a leading tissue >9 the box around is overwritten
2) When going going do Main Menu --> Gas list some "ghost letters" are visible...

Re: hwOS tech: Version 3.14 Beta 2
Hi,
i played a little bit more with the Beta 2 simulation and found something i don't unterstand (maybe that is intended, than i want to understand):
- two active gases
1) Air (First, max. depth 51m)
2) Tx 15/45 (Work, max. depth 76m)
I simulate a dive to 60m. At 51m the OSTC asks for a gas change to Tx 15/45, which i acknowledge. But it starts a red blinking max. depth warning. Which remains until ascent above 51m. I thought the max. depth warning is showing a too high ppO2 (MOD) and should only be active when above the set limits. Limits are set to 1.30 bar for work and 1.60 bar for deco. So to me it seems that the OSTC is not considering the change from Air to Tx 15/45 with regard to the ppO2 limits / max. depth warning... (ppO2 at 60m: Air 1.491bar / Tx 15/45 1.065bar)... or i am missing something?
Thanks!
Alex

Hi Alex,
I did the same test with your settings on my OSTC Plus, I didn't get the problem you describes, the simulator gives expected results !
Best regards.

Re: hwOS tech: Version 3.14 Beta 2
Dear all,
will the fix „ Simplified handling when using inactive gases during the dive “ be applied to the „non TECH“ Version as well?
Cheers,
Alex

Re: hwOS tech: Version 3.14 Beta 2
Since the "sport" and the "Tech" version are build from the same code base for some while now: Yes. All the changes presented in this beta will eventually arrive in the stable "sport" versions.

Matthias

Re: hwOS tech: Version 3.14 Beta 2
Hi,
at least i found, what i was doing wrong... in the menu "Dive/Deco setup --> Stops & Depths" i defined a Depth Warning at 51m (sometime in the past, did not remember that option to be honest). So this is exactly what the OSTC was doing, giving this warning. I set the option back to 120m standard, and now the simulator it doing what expected.
Sorry for any confusion.

Hi,
Attached to this post is the beta 3 of the 3.14 TECH firmware. The big font dive mode menu should now be fine and we fixed an issue with a (barely visible) pulsing screen brightness on some hardware versions.
Regards,
Matthias

Hi,
Update is basically ready. Due to limited availability of some parts we had to made some changes to the next OSTC2/Plus electronics and I'd like to wait until the production parts for the next batch arrive.

Matthias
