Button sensitivity OSTC2 fw 3.18

Post by hannes »

I'm struggling with the buttons in cold (~4°C) water. Navigating the menu with heated dry gloves is actually not easy, even though the sensitivity is set to 20%, which seems to be the most sensitive setting.
In warm conditions at the surface this is way too sensitive. The computer turns on all the time when moved or touched.

Here are my two questions

1) Is the 20% setting really the maximum sensitivity? 20% somehow suggest that it could be increased further, if firmware allows....

2) Given the temperature-dependence of the sensitivity, do you think it is possible to automatically adjust the sensitivity with temperature? (Maybe with a user-adjustable range: 20°: 80%, 4°C: maximum)

I have the same struggle with a brand new ostc2. Coming from an ostc3 with the physical buttons to push, I thought I just had to practice. But even on land, wearing dry gloves, the buttons are hard to manipulate.

Two years on, did you find any tricks to use the ostc2?

Not really... With thick (heated) dry-gloves in cold water it is quite hard do manipulate the ostc2 as wanted. Got used to it, I would say...
Once your fingers are in the optimal position (to exert pressure on the center of the button - which is hard to feel with thick gloves), it works somehow. However, compared to my Shearwater controller, it still is a bit of a pain.
