Just dove my brand new Bottomtimer this weekend on a couple of shallow reef dives. However, I can't get the Logbook to show any dives. When I select the Logbook, the screen goes black for one second and then jumps back to the Main Menu. I tried rebooting and replacing batteries, but the problem persists. I also tried asking HW directly, but they say they don't know what may be causing the problem.
I live nowhere near anyone who can help me service this unit, and sending it back to HW was a failed option last time around, so I need to figure out a way to fix this at home. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Maybe there's an option to introduce a software or firmware fix? The technical specifications for the BT say there is a USB maintenance port somewhere on the unit: https://heinrichsweikamp.com/index.php/ ... l#tab-data
But the manual doesn't mention it. The BT manual says only the battery compartment and the bungee backplate may be opened without damaging the unit, and I don't see a USB port after opening either of these.
The big one
