Hi Raymond,
Read the Sticky to FW 2.0 update! According to that you have to update first to 1.9 and only then can u go to 2.0.

Any link that I can read to help install?
Thanks

Hi,
No, you can go to 2.0 directly. You'll need the "old" bootloader program (Available on the download site) and the instructions here: http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/read.php?2,4071
Start after "If you have firmware <1.90:"...
Cheers,
Matthias

Re: Firmware Update from V1.8
Afnernoon Mathias,
I too have v1.80 on my mk2 (1714). I tried to update to version 1.90 earlier this year but I gave up after several hours trying! I have just spent another couple of hours trying again using your instructions above. I am using the old bootloader but cannot find the 'old' hex file you quote (ie v1.80). I have tried with the v2.00 hex file but I get a message in the boatloader saying 'cannot understand hex file'. Also, I get an error when checking PIC code although the correct COM port is seen and the USB serial converter appears to be working correctly.
Please help with SIMPLE instructions.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Firmware Update from V1.8
Hello Nick,
Several hours of trying? Sorry, I can't believe that.
Download the HEX (Included in the mk2_v200.zip) from http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/en/ostc_2n/firmware/
Continue here:
- Choose correct HEX file in the bootloader file dialog: "Browse"
- Choose correct COM-Port in the bootloader (The bootloader searches all COM-Ports automatically)
- In the OSTC Mk.2 Reset Menu, choose "Reboot OSTC" and confirm
- Press "write" at the bootloader within 10 seconds
- Wait about 1min.
Cheers,
Matthias

Re: Firmware Update from V1.8
Hello again Matthias,
Thanks for the prompt response. When you are not very au fait with computer software it is quite easy to spend hours going round in circles!
As I said, I followed your original instructions which you repeated in your reply. I have just followed them again but I am still getting an error message 'PIC not found' (the bootloader now appears to understand the hex file). Please advise.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Firmware Update from V1.8
Ok, then you are here:
- In the OSTC Mk.2 Reset Menu, choose "Reboot OSTC" and confirm
- Press "write" at the bootloader within 10 seconds
Are you using the new "v2" bootloader? You'll need to use the "v1" unless you have 1.9 or later installed. So, in your case, you'll need the v1 bootloader.
Can you post the bootloader log window (Cut and paste here).
Cheers,
Matthias

Re: Firmware Update from V1.8
Did that Matthias and it seems to have worked - I've no idea what I did differently! The only question remaining is I now have CF 56 AND 57 flashing in a red box on the top right of the home screen. I've been into the 56 and 57 custom functions and altered them but the red flashing box is still on the home screen - what does that mean?

Re: Firmware Update from V1.8
Hi,
As you figured out already, the two (new) CF must be initialised manually.
Cheers,
Matthias
