Re: black screen :-(
Is there any reaction from the two LEDs (red or blue)?

Re: black screen :-(
Ok, Don't panic.
First of all make sure your battery is charged so plug it to the pc and observe if the any of the LED's is flashing as Matthias said.
Your next step is to install an operating system on the dive computer.
To do that the only thing you need to do is to open the upgrade software of your choice such a JDiveLog or the boot loader and trigger an upgrade. As soon as the boot loader tries to write the software to the dive computer use the magnet to reboot the dive computer.
Once the dive computer reboots it will check if it is able to communicate with an external party (the boot loader) and the magic will happen.

Re: black screen :-(
Ok, that's not too bad. Most likely, you can recover your unit with the V1 bootloader, the correct HEX file and a magnet (Which you already have...):
- Download Bootloader v1 program: http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/de/ostc_2n/
- Download the HEX file! The file for the Mk.2 is called "mk2_v201_stable.hex" http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/en/ostc_2n/firmware/
- Choose correct HEX file in the bootloader file dialog: "Browse"
- Choose correct COM-Port in the bootloader (The bootloader searches all COM-Ports automatically)
- Now, toggle the reset with a magnet so the red LED is blinking. Put the magnet at least 0,5m away from the OSTC and...
- Press "write" at the bootloader within 10 seconds
- Wait about 1min.

thx for the advice my pressious one is back alive.
is it noticeble that you cannot upgrade from 1.80 to 2.0?
i have to go from 1.8 to 1.9 with the old (v1 ) bootloader than from 1.9 to 2.1 with the V2 bootloader is this correct?
regards and thx again for the support

Re: black screen :-(
You can directly upgrade from 1.8 to 2.0, but you have to use the V1 bootloader to do so.
