when i cancel the message that flags up then the DOWNLOAD option does NOT ever flash up to press and Download info.

I just open the link from the manufactures website n downloaded the divelog 5.0 from there as instructed.

how do i authorise this connection

As already mailed, I made a booboo. It came to me last night!

Of course a USB driver hast to be installed. As far as I can remember its the VCP driver from the FTDI website
USB VCP Driver

The following points need to be taken into consideration:
1. Is your PC/Notebook Windows or Mac.
2. With Windows 7. Is Windows 32bit or 64bit
3. Always install the Certified versions of the driver. Only install Beta versions if you are a computer wizz.

I shall make some documentation for the USB Driver installation.

To DivingLog:
You buy the software by ordering it on the DivingLog website.
Sven will then send you an eMail with the instructions on how to unlock DivingLog.
