Questions about de the OEM O2 Monitoring board

Hi folks,

I have some question about the OSTC computer, the OEM O2 monitoring board and (possible) homemade HUD.

1.- Is the ppo2 of the 3 cell visible when you are diving like the depth, time, etc..?

2.- If I want make a HUD.. the leds can be plugged directly to the board ?, no other circuit is necessary ?, what kind of leds ,single color o bicolor?

I've readed that the OEM board don't need the OSTC computer to work with a HUD

- I'm in truth ?

- If that's true, which es the table of ppo2 and led colour/flashings?

The two buttons on the board, what are they for?

Is there a schematic for the board?

The upper switch is to manually calibrate at air (When using in Stand-alone mode), the other one is not used at the moment.

It will be in the next firmware, right now only the result of the voting logic will be displayed during the dive. You see all three sensors at the surface in the O2 Sensor menu.

You can connect dual color LEDs (changing color by changing polarity) or two anti-parallel single-color LEDs into the board. 100Ohm series resistors are installed on the board. External power supply (e.g. 9V) are recommended when using HUD Leds.

Yes.

The thresholds can be adjusted by adjusting CF34...CF36, see http://www.heinrichsweikamp.net/ostc/pm ... anual.CF34 These settings are stored permanently in the board for stand-alone use.

I've just been looking at the PPO2 monitoring board and was wondering how difficult it would be to change the HUD display codes? the reason I ask is that I'm a big fan of the Smithers code for HUD display (for those that don't know, the display codes are for 1 green flash per 0.1 above a PPO2 of 1.0 or 1 red flash per 0.1 below a PPO2 of 1.0. then a pause, then flash PPO2 again. (A PPO2 of 1.0 is represented by both LEDs on together, which is obviously imposible using this hardware. but you could maybe substitute a shorter green then red flash for a PPO2 of 1.0)

Hello Simon,

Technically, this should be possible. It will require a different firmware on the ppO2 board but you could connect the green LED to one port and the red LED to another. So you can power them up together independently. I would recommend that you contact the author of the ppO2 board firmware (His email is in the header of the source code). I'm quite sure he will help you.
