OSTC 2N Cover

Post by kaheksa »

Can somebody tell me where I can find this protective cover (innodive doesnt sell it anymore)?

Is there also somekind of a screen protection sticker available?

Lot of murky water and wreck diving over here and some extra protection would be nice..

Hi,

You can get the foil for the display from HW.
And I do like the protective cover!

Google helicopter tape for the screen protection.

Innodive is seeling the protective film as well.

However, there is no need for the film as the display can "heal" scratches. That does not protect the rest of the case, though.

Look for Zagg's Invisible Shield on the net. whether the glass is self-healing or not, I prefer to have a piece of it on top, just to make sure there is extra protection. It doesn't hurt :-)

I believe it is irresponsible to make a claim in this forum that Borosilicate glass has self healing properties. I have not found any reference on the internet to this claim and neither is there any scientific evidence.

As stated on the HW website it has high scratch resistance, in addition it has a high resistance to thermal shock and is highly resistant to water, neutral and acid solutions, concentrated acids and acid mixtures, and to chlorine, bromine, iodine and organic substances.

If you want to reduce the risk of scratches in the glass of your MKII or 2N, HW has protective covers that fit the screen perfectly.

@PeterK
Of course you can convince me of the opposite by showing me the scientific evidence that there is such a thing as self healing property to Borosilicate glass.

Right. Buy a bigger one (iPhone size or whatever smartphone) and use scissors ? I know it sounds very difficult ... :-P

I second helicopter (or bike) tape.

I also agree that the glass isn't "self-healing" and have the scratch (prior to helicopter tape) to prove it!
