@abyss

just out of curiosity, while using GF30-80 as standard why do you set the aGF 10-90 ?

cheers

Hello Matthias,

in firmware 2.60 when i read bank0, i recieve strange values in Byte 28 (Active Gas Flag register).

I enter the gasmenu and set G2 to active and as first gas (all other gasses not active)

i read the ostc with ostcconfig and recieve in byte 28 = 00000000
then second attempt i recieve in byte 28 00000010

than i set in Gasmenu (in OSTC):
G2=first gas and active
G3=active
G4=active

i read with ostctools
first read Byte 28 = 0000 0000
second read Byte 28 = 0000 0010
third read Byte 28 = 0000 0110
fourth read Byte 28 = 0000 1110

i checked this several times with different first gas settings
the first gas value was always read properly,
so it is not a problem of ostctools.

Same with all five gasses active and G1 first gas.
When i set G1 first and G1 and G2 active and read bank0 three times, the correct value is displayed.
Than i activate the other gasses G3-5
first read shows G1 and G2 active
second read shows G1,G2,G3 active
third read shows G1,G2,G3,G4 active
fifth read shows all gasses active.

So it seems that there is a problem when creating the bank0 value byte 28!

I hope this helps.

Regards
Rob

@Adrian

Was Just for testing... I still have to find the right combination of GF and aGF.

The new indicator for active GAS looks nice, but I notice that it doesn't show the real active GAS, but only the active gas marked as First, and the other active GAS that have e depth grater then 0.

So if I have an active GAS but I have set 0 it result as not active.

Was that made in this way or is just a bug?
I thing is useful to have all the active gas shown also if i don't set a depth.

Cheers

why do you set an active gaz with depth =0 ?
"Active" means that a gaz is used for decompression computing, according to the depth you have set.

if you set depth=0 to a gaz, it can't be used for deco computing.
So it's an "Inactive" gaz

Is not really like that.
If the gas is active and I set depth = 0
The OSTC will not propose to you to change, but you can always switch GAS and after that OSTC will recalculate the DECO, according to the new GAS.

I guess a lot of people use a stage bottle from time to time. So is good to have the GAS active with depth 0, so when you have it you can do the switch otherwise you do the all dive with the first gas.

you can do exactly the same with an inactive gaz when you are under water :
you can select it at the depth you want and ostc recalculate the deco with this new gas
that's why i said : active gaz with depth0 = inactive gaz

Hi,

We now put a square field around the "first gas".

In this example, Gas 2,3 and 5 are active, Gas 3 is "first".

Again: To check every gas in detail (Air/Nx/Tx, active or not, first or normal, with change depth or without) a look in the gas setup remains obligatory.

I know this is common practice for experienced multi-gas divers. This indicator only provides a quick overview.

Cheers,
Matthias

Matthias, I like your idea with the square. I'd love to see that with the next stable.

Ok, we keep it like this for the next beta then.

As an overview it is perfect this way.

One other question: I wanted do change the color of all inactive stuff to a dark grey. I tried a dozen of color numbers but didn't find any grey... Do you have some kind of color table? Or is the color-table corresponding to some color scheme from gif-graphics or what ever?

Here it is:

if the url doesn't work in Bitbucket OSTC2_code / docu / 256colour.png

Be warned that the OSTC Gamma values will most likely not fit your PC screen...

Should be 2 itermediate grays:

[pre]
R G B : (R * 32) + (G * 4) + B
0 0 0 : 0 or Black
2 2 1 : 73
5 5 2 : 182
7 7 3 : 255 or White
[/pre]

That's why i'm asking. The color for the battery is 199 and it's blue. But on the table above 199 is some kind of purple... I discovered this in the Softwaretools as well...

I still have a couple of question about GAS switch:

- The deco is calculated on the Actual GAS or is considering all the ACTIVE GAS?

- If a GAS is active with a change depth set It will propose a deco stop at this depth. But this is not a deco stop right?

Sorry for the questions, but is not written anywhere this things..and is not correct to discover it doing test.
Will be nice to have a detailed flow chart of all the things considered to calculate the decompression plan (for example the algorithmic consider the water temperature? ).

Cheers

Nothing is going on on the new beta?

About my last post, there is some documentation that we can read?
