@Matthias: Nice idea to make the sensitivity adjustable! If you are really going to implement this, may I make another suggestion: Can you put all uncritical CF's (without real security-features) into a seperate folder and safe that folder during the update process? It would be very nice to have only one single folder with all the critical CF's (shouldn't be more than 10-15 IIRC) that you have to check after the update if you really stay with your opinion, that this is necessary.

Hi,

I don't want to move CFs but we don't reset CFs (if not required) anymore. You'll get a warning for changed default values instead.

Cheers,
Matthias

So main question now, will the ascent rate indicator be added in the next release.

And i like to Beta test as well.

Hi,

We'll upload a new beta tomorrow with the new CF60 that enables the graphical output. It uses 7 steps, the upper two steps are red. Stepsize is computed based on CF47 (Reaching speed defined CF47 is the 6th segment). You may have to adjust CF05 (Show velocity) to have the speed indicator earlier.

it a pity : choosing graphical output disable the display of the digits for ascent and descent speed.

Is it possible to get graphical and digit speed ?

Yes please, put the numerical info back when we select the graphical bars. ;)

@Stephane and Bardass: Why do you need both graphical and numerical data? I would prefer a clean display with only the important information... Maybe it is possible to program the cf in a way that makes both possible?

The numerical rate is located underneath the depth, it does not interfere with anything else. It's a plus.

No problem, the numeric rate can be enabled easily in the code. Right now i'ts 2:1 for showing both information....

I vote for digits always there, option of graphic turned on/off by CF.

And default will be OFF :-)

"I vote for digits always displayed, option of graphic turned on/off by CF."

That's ok for me, too! Especially if default = off ;-)

If there is need to have only one or both why not let the user choose by having several options in this particular CF:
0 - none
1 - numeric only
2 - graphical only
3 - both

There would even be more options available for different styles...

Option 0 is a nonsense: how can you determine your ascent rate? Timer and depth?
C'mon, it's a computer, not a timer and gauge. ;)

i agree with Stephane

@Stephane: Some divers are making ascents like that: ascent of 1m, then pausing at the new depth for some time, then ascent of another meter etc. It's not necessary to have an ascent indicator when diving this way. In my opinion, solodivers proposal is nice if easy to implement!

Those divers, aren't they called DIR ??? So they don't need no computer! :D
Anyway, this type of ascent is not good. With a group of friend we had a meeting with Dr Gardette, former chief scientist of COMEX (he validated Pascal Bernabe world record's dive plan) who explained us that when the ascent was lower than 6m/mn it could not be considered as a real decompression ascent.

"Those divers, aren't they called DIR ??? So they don't need no computer! :D " Maybe they don't need one but want to use it as backup/better bottom-timer anyway? But I'm not really a DIR-Diver...

"...when the ascent was lower than 6m/mn it could not be considered as a real decompression ascent." That definately depends on how long you are stopping at each depth (and I did not write, that I would stop longer than a few seconds each meter in the deeper parts of my dive) - with a few seconds at each meter, you are in the range of 10-6m/min, and when you are shallower, there is no need to hurry up!

That's what I'm hoping for. So everyone can choose what they want.

As for option 0, well if someone wants it then go ahead it just should not be the default option.

Thanks for the great work Matthias.
