Hi there,

a new Beta is availible.

improvements are:
- Dive numbers where read correctly even when cf28 is not set.
- if cf28 is changed, when some dives ar not made with the OSTC,
the dives are numbered correctly.
- OSTC Tools now can deal with special characters in paths (e.g. Plongè)
- Custom Functions Button "set default" added.
- Custom Functions editing; kicked out the unused "default values"
- Custom Functions description completely revised.
- OSTC Config now uses the latest availible version of
definitons when a newer firmwareversion is loaded.

eine neue Version der OSTCTools ist verfügbar.

Die Änderungen sind:
- Tauchgangsnummern werden sauber erstellt auch wenn CF28 nicht gesetzt ist.
- Bei Änderung von CF28, z.B. um ein paar Tauchgänge die nicht mit dem OSTC
gemacht wurden auszulassen, werden die TG richtig nummeriert.
- Die OSTC Tools können nun Sonzerzeichen wie Akzente (e.g. Plongè) in
Pfadnamen richtig verarbeiten.
- Custom Functions Button "Setze Default" hinzugefügt.
- Custom Functions editieren; die ungenutzten "default values" werden
nicht mehr zu editieren angeboten.
- Custom Functions Beschreibung komplett überarbeitet.
- OSTC Config verwendet nun die letzte (höchste) verfügbare Definitionsdatei,
auch wenn eine höhere Firmwareversion vom OSTC geladen wurde.

Jetzt bin ich dazu gekommen, mich mit dem CF28 etwas eingehender zu beschäftigen. Und in der Tat, jetzt sehe ich es auch: CF28 = Null macht wirklich nicht viel Sinn... Andererseits: Wenn man bereits zwei Tauchgänge gemacht hat, macht auch CF28 = 1 keinen Sinn mehr... CF28 sollte also entweder
a) der Anzahl TG entsprechen, die man mit dem OSTC gemacht hat, oder
b) der Anzahl TG entsprechen, die man als Taucher gesamthaft gemacht hat.

Danke für die neue Beta. Installation und "dumpen" hat wieder prima funktioniert, auch das Erstellen von Profilen.

Zur Installations-Routine: Ich denke hier wäre es gut, wenn die .dive Dateien gleich während der Installation mit dem Programm OSTC Profile verknüpft werden.

Im Programm "OSTC Profile" wäre es toll, wenn die Daten Tiefe und Zeit etwas grösser dargestellt würden, während man im Profil mit der Maus oder Tastatur das Profil abfährt. Optisch cool wäre es natürlich, wenn im Fenster oben rechts ein OSTC abgebildet wäre, auf dem die Werte 1:1 dargestellt werden...

Das so mal auf die Schnelle zwei Sachen, die mir aufgefallen sind.

- Warning Color when leaving suggested CF values.
- Full Keyboard support for Custom Functions (no mouse needed).
- changing the CF-Values with the arrow keys.
- Custom Functions description in english, german and french (many thanks to Jean Philippe).
- Import and Export of EEProm Bank 2.
- Settings Files can be read, saving will convert them automatically to latest version.
- Special characters in Text (mainly CF descriptions) allowed.

improvements in OSTCDump:
- EEprom Bank2 supported (for Firmware version >= 2.22)

improvements in OSTCProfile:
- Profile Graph, rounding problem with maximum depth solved.
- Less Space between textlines.

- Warnfarbe beim Editieren wenn der Empfohlene Wertebereich verlassen wird.
- Editieren der Custom Functions jetzt ausschließlich mit der Tastatur möglich (keine Maus nötig).
- Ändern der CF-Werte mit den Pfeiltasten der Tastatur.
- Custom Functions Beschreibungen in englisch, deutsch und französisch (vielen Dank an Jean Philippe).
- Import und Export der EEProm Bank 2.
- Alte Settings Dateien können gelesen werden, gesichert werden sie automatisch in der aktuellsten Version.
- Sonderzeichen im Text (Hauptsächlich in den CF Beschreibungen) werden korrekt dargestellt.

Änderungen in OSTCDump:
- EEprom Bank2 wird unterstützt (für Firmware Version >= 2.22)

Änderungen in OSTCProfile:
- Profil Grafik, das Rundungsproblem bei Berechnung der maximalen Tiefe gelöst.
- Zeilenabstände bei den Tauchgangsdaten reduziert.

Zwei konkrete Änderungs-/Ergänzungswünsche:

1) etwas dickere Linien für die Kurven. Allenfalls nebst der Linienfarbe in Form von Strichbreite (1,2,3,...) einstellbar? (Strichbreite für Diagrammlinien und Hilfslinien ist ok)

2) Print-Option

Dann finde ich den "Workflow" noch etwas umständlich... Ist es ein Fernziel, alle 3 Applikationen irgendwann mal zu einer einzigen zusammenzufügen? Also ich fände es gut...

ach, und noch etwas drittes:

3) Deco ceiling mit einer Schraffur oder Farbe füllen (gleiche Farbe wie Option "Decodata").

improvements in OSTCConfig are:

- Some Bugfixes according to Bank2 in the CF configuration dialog.

- Custom Functions configurationfiles (descriptions) in
english, french and german.

- Custom Functions configurationfiles for firmware
versions 1.90, 2.00, 2.20, 2.21, 2.23, 2.25 and 2.26.

- Possibility to load an older, saved, CF Configuration file to a
higher Firmware.
(for example Firmware 2.10 in file -> 2.21 in OSTC)

- its possible to load a new, saved CF configuration file to
an older Firmware.
(for example Firmware 2.28 in file -> 2.21 in OSTC)

If the firmware in the OSTC contains more Custom Functions than
the file that should be uploaded, the "more CF" remains the same.

If the firmware in the OSTC contains fewer Custom Functions than
the file that should be uploaded, the "more CF" are not loaded to the OSTC.

Dialog hinsichtlich der neuen CF in Bank2.

- Custom Functions Konfigurationsdateien (Beschreibungen)
in englisch, französich und deutsch.

- Custom Function Konfigurationsdateien für die Firmware
Versionen 1.90, 2.00, 2.20, 2.21, 2.23, 2.25 and 2.26.

- Die Möglichkeit eine ältere, gesicherte Konfigurationsdatei
auf eine neuere Firmware zu laden.
(Beispiel: firmware 2.10 in Datei -> 2.21 im OSTC)

- Es ist möglich, eine neue gesicherte Custom Functions
Konfigurationsdatei auf eine ältere Firmwareversion im
OSTC zu laden.

Just some questions and wishes:

- why don't you merge the 3 programs into one suite? i'm still confused by the workflow when i try to extract the dives... First do dump or using config directly?
- why did you limit the window (OSTCConfig)in width? If i switch to full screen it extends the window only in the height...

- i would like to have thicker lines for the profile graphic. Maybe this can be set in the options.
- i would like to have the deco ceiling shaded
- would be nice to have the profile files (.dive) compatible with OSTC Planner for
replaying a dive...

Two things more:

Using "OSTCProfile" i'm thinking about the scale of the Y-axis... To check about deco stops and check about dive profile it would be nice to have the scale in 3m steps. Now we have every 10m a thin line. I recommend to have every 3m a thin line and every 9m a caption...


Second thing:
Is it somehow possible to calculate ascend and descend speed rate and display it in the profile at the selector position? (Maybe you can compare the depth from 10 seconds before, calculate the difference and then calculate the speed)
