All,
OSTC 2n firmware upgrade:
Nice smooth upgrade..whilst the upgrade was in process the "w" of the weikamp flashed blue - nice.
The end "wait" message stayed for about 5 minutes and then the 2n rebooted OK.
Diving Log:
I seem to have lost my Custom functions. Reading in this thread, I think I can maybe save them to my PC by using the Diving Log program. Can I then reset (reload onto 2n) the custom functions when I update with the next firmware release from Diving Log ?
I am playing with the demo of DL and needed to update to 5.0.5 it seems before I could download any dives and to get Custom Functions I[3] and II [2]
Cfn 19 Says Default = 150 yet on my 2n is says Default=1.40 - which is the default ?
At last I can change my Customer Text via Diving Log - I didn't know how to do that with the 2n
Any tips appreciated

Hi
Custom Functions will be resetted by the OSTC after a firmware update, that is by design and for safety reasons. I do not recommend using the "WriteToBinary" and "ReadFromBinary" functions in Diving Log to workaround this issue. It works, but you do that on your own risk and you might restore old values into new CF. If you do this, make sure to check every CF to see if it has the correct value. Resetting the CF is done by the OSTC to prevent incompatibilities between firmware updates (e.g. one CF has a different meaning after the update).
I'm not sure if it is possible to allow a CF backup and restore in a safe way. I have to discuss this with Matthias. Maybe I'll add a print or save-to-text function for the CF or a autorestore when it is safe.
Cheers,
Sven

As far as I know, the OSTC did not delete the CF's when upgrading from one of the 1.9x beta versions, as long as all CF's were within safe margins! At least none of my cf's were changed after upgrading and Mathhias told me this is right...

Sven,
Good point. Re new values. I would have thought though that safely set custom functions could stay as they were, and have new custom functions added, by the update.
Not a problem now I have noted which ones I have changed.
Tiefunten,
All mine were reset, but I went from 1.9 stable to 2.0 stable, not beta.

Hi,
after unzipping the V2.0 zip-file you have 5 different MK2-V200-stable files in your folder.
Plain is english, deutsch is german, espanol ist spanish, francais is french and russian is russian.
Choose the one you like for your MK2.
If you choose the plain file you'll end up with english.
For german choose the file "deutsch".
