no deco limits ostc versus tables

;) hi I've tried a simulation to a dive 33m on air(with the new stable 1.28 VERSION) and got a no deco time of 7 minutes, when I take a look into my good old IANTD air tables I get 12 minutes, and with my old SUUNTO mosquito I get about 12 minutes too. Can I enlarge my no deco time on my OSTC to about the same time with some setting changings (without getting a skull lol)????
Thanx in advance,
Alain.
P.S. : I already tried with changing te GF settings to 15/85 but I think this only changes my decostops(more and longer deepstops), correct me if I'm wrong...

Hi,

try GF 30/90 which is the most agressive setting without displaying the death skull.
This should give you some more NDL but i'm not sure if it will give you 12 min. on 33 mtr.

Reiner

P.S.: 15/85 will give you less NDL then 30/85.

If you are realy chasing max no deco time, you can switch the deco calculation from Gradient factor to straight Bulman 100/100.
This will give you more no deco time (at an increased risk of DCI), but I wouldn't recommend it unless you completely understand the implications.

Thanx sailor,

with settings 30/90 i do get some more(11 min), so that's about the same as my tables and my old mosquito.

greetings,
Alain.

To Simon:

Thanx for the info, but I'm not looking for the maximum(wanna stay alive and have some more dives...lol), just something that + - reflects the tables and my old computer, because my buddy dives with a SUUNTO VYTEC , so it is great to know if our NDL are aprox. the same....

angelain,
it does depend if you understand how the deco model works. Mark Powell does a fantastic book called "Deco For Divers" that presents deco theory and background in an easy to understand way.
I'm torn between 2 ways of running my OSTC at the moment, I like the simplicity of running the GF model. but I also like the fact that when in bulman 100/100 mode I can set it to display the GF any time it is over 15% and then manualy do GF deco and still have 100/100 to refer to in an emergency.
