Settings for deepstops

I've had the OSTC for one week and tested it during 2 real dives and several PC simulations.
I've seen that the OSTC isn't capable to do deepstops (like the "Pyle"). Because of the proven importance of deepstops I wonder if it's possible to introduce a formula or what are the custom settings to have deep deepstops? Example: Dive at 50m, first deepstop at 30m
Another question: I see you are investigating the possibility to implement a wireless tanksensor. Any idee when the first sensor will be available? Do we need another OSTC then or not?
I've also noticed that the OSTC doesn't give a message/signal when you have to change to decogas. Is this normal?

Hello,
For the DS you have the GF.
Regarding the benefit of DS, you are speaking of air/nitrox or trimix ?
Cheers,
Antoine

I tried the GF mode with 30/90 but I didn't had any difference with B?hlman
I tried with G1: 21/0 G2: 80/0
with G1 always active and first gas
I tried several simulations with G2 active and not, with switch at 8m or not
but no difference
I have to say the decostops were not that big
9m: 1min
6m: 2min
sometimes 12m:1min appeared and aftere some seconds at same depth it dissapeared again!!
thanks in advance

Only because you don't stay enough at the bottom

With so little decostops you won't see any difference.
Simulating with MVplan 15minutes at 50meter :
GF 80/80 (I use with air dil) : 1min at 9, 2at6,4at3
GF 30/85 (most used with He dil) : deco starts at 18meter.
If you still want deepers stops put him 15/80 you'll have first stop at 24m.

i see
nice tool MVplan btw
thanks for the answer.
Is it normal the OSTC doesn't give you a sign when you have to switch gas?
I know if you plan your dive you know when to switch but a signal would be usefull.

Hello,
Maybe we could implement a blinking gas display showing that a "better" gas is available for this depth?

Matthias

Yep, that's the way of working of the shearwater pursuit, you still can refuse to change.
Like here the TTS is calculated "as if" all gasses will be used.

as pointed by others, you need to look at gradient factors.
imho, it is worth to read baker's article about deep stops:
http://www.dirdiver.co.uk/index.php?Ite ... &task=view (pdf version
http://www.ddplan.com/reference/deepstop.pdf)
it contains some nice graphs showing the difference between "just" deep stops and deco stops using GF.

Hi,
i`m using GF 5/85 to make my profile as close as possible to my budies VR3 and like this my OSTC calculates much deeper deepstops, of course depending the profile and gas used.
My DS`s are still not as deep as the VR3 DS`s but they come much closer compared to GF 30/85.
