Did you try already to create a new logbook first, and then start importing? Maybe something is messed up in your loogbook file on your Desktop-PC...

Did you press F2 for downloading the dives? Then the programm reads your OSTC (you can see that on the display of your OSTC - so make sure before start downloading to turn on your OSTC!), then a window will popup asking you which dives you want to import... Choose all (mark them blue) and press "Import".

That's all i can help you.

Yes I did press F2. Screen of ostc is correct. There is no window popup asking me which dives I want. it imports the first dive and that's all.

Maybe you try to reinstall JDiveLog and update your Java Runtime Environment to the latest version...

Find the the cause of this connection problem (Computer or OSTC).

Try Divinglog, Subsurface, OSTC Tools, OSTC Planner or similar.

Hi I've just bought a brand new OSTC 2N with 2.7 installed.

I've just one dive with and when i wanted to test the dive log backup I've faced the same problem with rather Jdive log and Subsurface.

I'm using a Debian Computer but I don't think this is the source of the problem.

I think there is a problem with dive index returned to computer during sync.

Laurent I can show you this strange behaviour when you'll come back from your holidays

With the last couple of betas and 2.70, when I download using Subsurface, sometimes not only the newer dives download, but one more will be imported even though it already exists. All the dives are then recorded as 0 in the number.

Some news about this problem,

The sync protocol seams have change, has i updated subsurface to 3.1.1 the dive log download works well. In the changelog it is said
support for current firmware in OSTC2 and OSTC3
at http://subsurface.hohndel.org/2013/06/s ... -released/.

I will open a bug to jdivelog to implement this new version ....

For information to linux user with both jdivelog and subsurface add your current user to the dialout group in order to not have to launch the program with the root privilege :

sudo adduser [your_username] dialout

I am now diving in Scapa Flow, Scotland. I have tried to download my dives three time using Subsurface. On the first two days I could only download the second dive of the day. The first is visible on the OSTC, but it does not get added to the logbook. I tried creating a new logbook and downloading, but every dive except the second last one was downloaded.

The second day the same thing happened. Today, I tried to download the first dive of the day after the dive (before the second one) but nothing downloaded. Tonight I tried again and got no new dives. The time and date is correct on both OTSC and computer.

The connection is obviously working, but something is wrong.

I have 2.70 on computer.

Any ideas?

With the ostc2 transfer protocol, all dives are downloaded at once. So either you get all of them or nothing. So if the download succeeds and some dives end up in your logbook but others don't, there are only two possibilities: (1) there is a bug in the libdivecomputer library that causes the parsing to fail for some dives, or (2) there is a bug in subsurface that causes some dives to get dropped.

In both cases this is most likely and application issue, and we can probably better help you on the libdivecomputer and/or subsurface mailinglists.

> I have 2.70 on computer.

Which version of subsurface are you using? There have been some changes in the latest ostc firmware that required an update to the libdivecomputer library (v0.4.1). This bugfix is only included in the latest subsurface release (v3.1.1), so make sure you are not using an older version!

Thanks Jef, I downloaded the new version (which I did not know had been released), deleted the dives I had already downloaded and it then downloaded all the 8 dives I have now done at Scapa.
