OSTC firmware 2.70 possible bug in diving log

I recently updated to 2.70 and I believe I ran into a bug (possibly serious and unsafe if also affects deco calculation but I do not think so).

I usually dive with a HW OSTC2 with me which is my primary and then a Suunto Vyper in gauge mode as backup and dive tables Computers are backup not primary, so as long as timers and depth are ok, I will survive the dive :-)) Anyway, today the plan was for a dive on a wreck at 49 mt max (operational depth was 47 calculations for 49) bottom time 20.

Gas was Air on bottom, Nitrox 50 from 21mt and Oxy at 6 mt.

Apparently everything went fine while diving but once home the download of the dive was as follows:

This is a download of the dive into MACdive. As soon as I do the first gas change for some reason the recording of depth was erratic (it was adding zero depth datapoint to the dive profile) but during the first gas change the depth was changing between the actual dept and zero.

After the second gas change was even worst singe the recorded depth was flip flopping between 0 and 50 meters.

Now the decompression profile apparently was good and consistent with my tables and the displayed depth correct (I once in a while crosscheck with my backup), but nevertheless all of these issues with 2.70 make me consider going back to previous beta ....

As a reference also attached my backup instrument recorded dive profile .....

Happy Diving

Fabio

Go on the Mac Dive forum and Nick is having a beta that should fix the problem. And if not, follow the procedure to send him the data so he can look at it. And in no time you'll have a fix.

Merci Jean-François,

for everybody, the beta actually fixed my problem.
Just make sure you are running 2.2.3 (latest stable) which will update the database during install and then download the beta from:
http://www.mac-dive.com/downloads/MacDive_Beta.zip

Then I had to delete the dive and download it again.

Cheers

Fabio

Try the new one, it came out 2 days ago. And if it still does not work, follow the instruction from this post http://mac-dive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=407 and send both files to Nick and he'll solve it in no time.

With new features of the OSTC logbook updated versions of the PC software is required.

Latest OSTC firmware needs latest PC download program. That is 5.0.11 for Divinglog, for example.
