Blank screen on deco

Dived HMS Transylvania today off the north coast of Ireland which is 129m deep. I registered 127.9m on the OSTC.
On the ascent the OSTC went blank, I think at approx 70m, and was completely unresponsive until I finished the dive and got back on the boat.
I'm using v2.70 software.
The GFs were 30/80
The diluent gas configured was 10/70 and a 1.30 CCR setpoint
I use the OSTC as a backup computer to my Inspiration Vison which was programmed with the same GFs, slightly more accurate diluent 8/73 and a setpoint on ascent of 1.50 so more than likely was breaking a couple of "ceilings" or "floors" for the OSTC.
So, is this some programmed behaviour of the OSTC, or a software bug in v2.70
Another diver who reached 121m had no issue with his OSTC and he is on software v2.50 if I recall correctly.
Any information or advice?

Computer display went blank on descent to wreck at 103m yesterday. I think it went blank at approx 30m. Strange thing is that it has entries in the logbook for both dives so I'm thinking its a bug in the software affecting the display only. Again the computer came back straight away when I surfaced.
Any comment HW? Its not doing a great job as my backup

Hi Stephen,
Please send us the unit for test here in the pressure chamber:
info@heinrichsweikamp.com
As told many times before: Do not use the OSTC for dives >120m, please...
Regards,
Matthias

Thanks Matthias. It was only a little beyond 120m B)
I've flashed v2.70 onto the computer again and reset everything.
I'll reconfigure all the gases etc and dive it tomorrow on a wreck in 85m and see what happens.
If the problem persists then I'll send it back to you.
Regards, Stephen

I tested my OSTC in a 130 mt (131 mt max depth on uwatec digital330 that is calibrated in fresh water, but OSTC was in salt water setup) OC dive last month (see the .dive in v2.70 3d); the OSTC hit 128,9mt, everything worked fine, but now i noticed a bit of "dead pixels" darker than the Others in the center of the screen (oled version). Except this, no other malfunctions in later dives.
I think you are unlucky
Bye!!

Why did you do that?

I think no one is sorry for you...

I did it because, as smcmullan said... it's just a "bit " of overpressure ... like from 13 to 14 bar ... + 7,7% ...

B)-
even if the software fails and the pressure sensor go crazy... at least the casing and the glass should stand the overpressure (if it passed the working pressure at 13 bar should stand at least 10% more ..nah??

)
Anyway.. I did it because i discovered a new and still virgin wreck to explore and ostc was my choice (and the only computer I had and i still have). I was relying on tables and digital 330 gauge in the eventuality ostc fails and shut down.
Still.... my fault i exceeded the max depth

sorry!!!

Hi Ciro,
Nice dive and well done. Watch out for those DCI symptoms especially CNS related. Slightly more important than diving an OSTC beyond its stated limits. That's one computer that cannot be replaced.
I also had an issue with dead pixels in an OSTC Mk2 on the screen in the past and it got progressively worse and I sent it back to HW and they were extremely helpful in upgrading me to my current 2N.
My current problem has also gotten worse. On dives to 103m and 92m the display has turned off on descent and remains off until I'm back in the boat hours later. I don't think the computer powers off because it records all detail in the logbook.
I have to admit that it only happened after the dive where it registered 127m. Even if this is beyond device limits it should still be interesting to HW to see what the problem is. Especially as its only a few metres beyond and for the last two deep dives - within limits.
Cheers, Stephen
