OSTC Companion for 2c?

Having had an OSTC3 for a short while, I found the firmware updates incredibly straight forward with the use of OSTC Companion software.
I had a number of issues with the OSTC3 and so ended up changing to the OSTC2c, and note that this is not supported in the Companion software.
Having looked at the alternatives and method for updating firmware on an OSTC2c with a MAC, it seems much more awkward than it is on the 3.
Is there any plans to incorporate the OSTC2c into the OSTC Companion software for firmware updates? This surely can't be too difficult and would make it so much more user friendly!
