OSTC Case Lifetime

Just something new I learned.

1 ATA cases for electronics seem to be tested to a particular depth and then rated for that depth, but they are not cycled several times at that dept (i.e. pressure).

So, the question is really how many cycles of compression and decompression can the OSTC actually withstand at say 100 meters befor the plastic case will crack?

Some cases last as little as 10 cycles or thereabouts at 100 meters (hence the need for oil/gel filling where possible).

Hello,

We did not made wear tests until the case broke but we made the required 200 cycles according to EN13319.

Matthias
