OSTC3 - Setting compass gain

Post by ClaudeDive »

Hi Matthias,

There is no information in the user's manual for setting compass gain,

Factory's setting on my OSTC3 was “255x*”?

The standard adjustment must be "6" (without astérisk) on my OSTC3 the setting's range goes from 0 to 7.

which are the criteria to set compass gain?

Regards,

Cheers ;)

Keep it a 6 unless you're running into fixed values during compensation (e.g.-4096) due to more magnetic batteries.

Try as I might, I cannot find an image of the OSTC3 compass in action. Can anyone direct me to such a pic? I cannot get hold of an actual OSTC3 to see for myself (rare as hens teeth at the moment). A screenshot in the manual would be useful.

Thanks Matthias

Was a compass ring / graphic compass option implemented in one of the iterations?

It's on the do-to list for a while but I can't promise if and when this will be available.
