The OSTC Sport is compatible with the OSTC 3, so just choose the OSTC 3 in the download dialog. In the next version of subsurface the OSTC Sport will be listed explicitely.

I use although the Mint Linux, based on Ubuntu 14.04. My Subsurface won´t open the port without a failure with the paired and configured Bluetooth port /dev/rfcomm0. But the version of Subsurface, which is for the special provided distribution package, is for sure a earlier Version. So have a look for the latest Version.
My further suspicon is, a poor quality of the bluetooth adapter. Sometimes for my new adapter is 1m to much and creates similar failure. On Linux and Windows equal. So i organize and try another adapter.::o

I am sure now.We have to wait on a new subsurface Version for Linux. I tried different adapters, and different distributions.
The preinstalled included Bluetooth configuration tool (Mint/Ubuntu), is really junk and is not able to pair.
In this case try and install blueman.
This congiration tool works fine. So we have only to wait.B)-

I have to give in terminal: sudo rfcomm connect 0 00:12:6F:21:6A:D1 1

After that i can download dives in Subsurface.
