Info gas type on display "surface Mode", "OC Gas List" and "Diluent List"
Hi Matthias,

As we have an asterisk in front of First gas, would be interesting to see gas type information on display “Surface Mode”, “OC Gas list” and “Diluent List” for a vision and a fast control before diving or after the adjustment of gases.

The mockups below and the following examples show this information gas type, on these different display.

- Eg: Display "Surface Mode":
*:Tx25/35 0m (First Gas)

Travel Gas becomes:

B:Tx13/60 0m (Bottom Gas), for the bottom,
D:Tx25/35 54m (Deco Gas)
-:Nx50 0m (Disabled Gas)
D: O2 6m (Deco Gas)

Or as mentioned in another of my topic OSTC3 : "Gas type one additional choice “TravelDeco”" (January 11, 2014).

First Gas becomes:

T: Tx25/35 54m (TravelDeco Gas), Travel Gas for the descent,

Travel Gas becomes:

B: Tx13/60 0m (Bottom Gas), for the bottom,

1st Deco Gas becomes:

T:Tx25/35 54m (TravelDeco Gas), Deco Gas for the ascent,
-:Nx50 0m (Disabled Gas)
D: O2 6m (Deco Gas)

With the mockup above and the settings below where the gas 1 and 3 are identical for travel and 1st deco, it would possible to leave a free G5 gas to program a backup gas available "BO Gas",

- Eg: Display "OC Gas list":
Gas1:*:Tx25/35 0m (First Gas) ------> or Gas1: T: Tx25/35 54m (TravelDeco Gas), Travel Gas for the descent,
Gas2: B: Tx13/60 0m (Bottom gas)
Gas3: D: Tx25/35 54m (Deco gas) ------> or Gas3: T: Tx25/35 54m (TravelDeco Gas), Deco Gas for the ascent,
Gas4: -: Nx50 0m (Disabled Gas)
Gas5: D: O2 6m (Deco gas)

The fact to have the designation "TravelDeco" indicates to the software that the gas is used in the descent "Travel" and ascent "deco" and allows also to leave a free place for G5 backup gas to program.

- Eg: Display "CCR Diluent list":
Gas5:N:Nx80 ..m (Normal Diluant)

This display for each type of gas have the same function than asterisk for "First Gas", and is also easy to realize than asterisk, in this way we can see and check quickly all types of selected gas.

Thank you in advance for your answer, Regards.

Hi Matthias,

Thank for your answer,
I look forward to this improvement in a next release, hopefully soon, perhaps for our summer dives!

It will be à very good news for a vision and a fast control before diving or after the adjustment of gases,

In this way we can see and check quickly all types of selected gas with a better safety for programming and decompression ,

Thank you in advance for this improvement,

Regards.

PS: I saw a user to took again my request for the OSTC2 it's well,

But I hope we keep the priority this improvement request of origin OSTC3 since febuary.

Re: Info gas type on display "surface Mode", "OC Gas List" and "Diluent List"
Hi Matthias,

In Complement and waiting to the improvement above for gas type info by a letter in a next version, hopefully soon,

On the screens "Surface Mode", "List of gases OC" and "Diluant List" for better vision and a control more safe before diving or after setting the gases,

For white color scheme, could you put gases disabled with a darker blue for replacing the current blueish-grey, like you did on another topic for "GF" or "aGF" disabled in "Dive Mode" and "Simulator Mode",

On the "Dive Mode" screen of the gases, the gases disabled are already in darker blue,

I saw that this differentiation of disabled gas by dark blue existed also on OSTC2N,

This color change easy to realize could be update now or with a beta version in waiting and in Complement of marking the types of gas by a letter,

Thank you in advance for your taking into account,

Hi Matthias,

Ok, I hope for the next update the color of disabled gases in darker blue, it's a simple modification that improves the control of gases setting and readability,

And it would be great if you could do soon marking for setup of gases with a letter, it would greatly improve the ability to control gases setting and therefore safety,

Info gas type in simulator
Hi Matthias,

In the simulator for selection "Deco calculation" on the page with the Runtime, would it be possible to display the list of asset gas for Runtime,

The display in front of each gas by a letter indicating the choice "type" would be a safety advantage for setting,

T: Gas Travel & Déco
B: Bottom gaz
D: Gas Deco
-: Gas disabled

Regards,

Please check the new beta 1.54 about this topic. It's not exactly what you wanted but now you can distinguish between all types easily: read.php?6,13957

Hi Matthias,

Sorry but I do not see any changes to v1.54 on the screen below,

I see no further change for the gases on the screens
- Surface Mode
- OC Gas list

My request was to have:

- On one line of this screen the list of active gases for this simulation:

In this example: B: Air (Bottom gas) - D: NX70 (deco gas)

- On a 2nd line the parameters of the simulated dive:

In this example: Int: 0'- Dive Time 25'- Max Depth: 48m

The display of these two lines allow to verify that simulation displayed is the simulation expected,

I was writing about your (repeated) request from "February 01, 2014 02:37AM".
As explained I won't remove the Gas-Numbering (1-5) in the surface mode or OC Gas List due to different reasons.
regards,
Matthias

Matthias, I do not see where it is possible to distinguish the types of gases,

Or being forced to do separatly for each gaz and in this case there is no synthesis,

Can you give an example with a screenshot or we can easily and quickly check the programming of gas before the dive and distinguish the different types of gas?

Before the start of each dive, the possibility of a quick check is important for diver safety between gases used and on its gases programed on his OSTC3,

This possibility of synthesis control on a surface screen should be very simple to perform for HW,

Re: OSTC3 - Info gas type in simulator
Matthias, thank you for your answer with screenshots, this explains the HW criteria identification of the types of gases and it will certainly help users OSTC3,

Why not have on the two first screens above "Surface Mode" & "Gas Setup" the same blue color for the Nx32 (disabled gas) than on the screens "OC Gas List" & "Dive Mode Menu"
It would be an identification logical and more clear with same color for the disabled gases on all displays,

it Missing your answer to original question of this topic about the simulator for the screen "calculate deco" to have the list of active gases and dive data : Interval - Dive Time and Depth Max.

The display of these parameters allow to verify and to be on that simulation displayed is the simulation expected,
